Any coffee and chickory fans?

I switched to French Market Coffee & Chickory last year, and love this stuff. It comes out of New Orleans and has a taste that can't be beat to my palate. I use a French press, and it takes 1/2 of what I would normally put in to get a great tasting cup and my preferred strength.

I live in New Orleans and wont drink the stuff. If I did though in would be "Community Coffee."

Such was the success of chicory/coffee during the period of WWII rationing. I love the stuff as cafe au lait w/ a platter of beignet and powdered sugar + the Mississippi River in the background. Out of context, not for me.

I haven't had beignet in a long time. I just checked the cupboards and am short the evaporated milk. Once I get a cup of coffee (and chickory) in me this morning I'll head to the store and grab some so I can make a batch.

Mmm I like the coffee and chickory. I had some cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe Du Monde when I was in New Orleans for a night a couple of months ago. I brought a tin of their coffee back with me, delicious!

I love CDM.... Its pretty good IMO... I like Cafe Dumonde's too, someone told me they are the same... not too sure. Im over there once a month if not more. I will have to check on the brand. Heck! Im going !!tomorrow on my way to Baton Rouge actually!!!

I stop in the Cafe everytime I get to Nyawleans. In context there, it's great. Just never seems the same when I bought a can of the stuff. As I recall, the Cafe sells their own branded product. I wonder if community coffee there makes it for them.
