Coffee and Cigars

Hello Coffee Drinkers,

I am looking for suggestions on what sorts of coffees pair well with cigars. I like full bodied coffees and full body cigars. I love the taste of coffee, and I will love to pair your suggestions with cigars. This will make mornings just such much better.

Thanks to everyone.

Re: Coffee and Cigars

This would be virtually any good grade of coffee as long as it is:

freshly roasted (shop around)
freshly ground (gotta getta burr grinder if you don't have one)
correctly brewed in a french press, not less than 1T coffee per 4-oz water

And there it is.

Re: Coffee and Cigars

Hey Ed. I rarely have a cigar in the morning, but when I do, it is a real treat!
My wife has been ordering from Deans Beans online and there coffee is outstanding. We have sampled a bunch of different ones over the last year and they have all been great. We have good results with just a standard drip coffee maker but we purchased one of those copper filter baskets to replace the paper ones. The paper soaks up all the good oils. What a waste!
Also, we use a heaping tablespoon of freshly ground beans to each cup of coffee. Enjoy!

^ This. If you really get into it, you can start roasting your own beans . . . oh boy!

Re: Coffee and Cigars

I bought some Naviera Celebes Kalossi Coffee from Leaf and Ale and tried it, its a rich dark roast coffee and it goes well with a nice cigar after dinner or just a late evening cup/cigar moment.
