Puerto Rican coffee...

When I visit Puerto Rico I always enjoy the coffee there. I have ordered coffee from elcolmadito online and enjoyed it, but I am wondering if any of you have sources that you consider better. Thanks.

Re: Puerto Rican coffee...

Just got back from a trip to the farm I buy my PR Mountain grown coffee from....they're at peak harvest. I purchased all beans picked, processed and dried during my stay. They ship this weekend. Can't get any fresher than that. More to follow.

I placed an order a few days ago. Will those be the beans you ship me?

Re: Puerto Rican coffee...

Novasurf knows his coffees. When it comes to PR, though, I call him Knowvasurf.

I keep thinking that, one year soon, the PR Yauco Selecto will come in with a landmark espresso-ideal honey-sweet motor-oil thick syrupy crema perfection and, from the goodness of his heart, Novasurf will arrange 20-lb for me. When PR is good, it's REALLY good.

Re: Puerto Rican coffee...

The coffee arrived this afternoon from my Uncle in Jersey. Didn't know I had relatives in NJ. Hmmmm.. Anyway, it was too late in the afternoon to drink a pot (I'd be awake all night!) but I did put some in the grinder for tomorrow morning. I have an ancient hand grinder, you know the kind with the glass hopper and the black handle, that is mounted to my kitchen wall. After decades of grinding it still does a great job. Where was I...??? Oh yeah, the coffee had the most amazing aroma! Just opening the bag filled my whole kitchen with the fragrance of fresh coffee. Impressive!

Re: Puerto Rican coffee...

mmmmm,,,coffee. I love coffee. Puerto Rico is one of those places where it is pretty cheap to travel to now which makes me thirsty for coffee and cigars for smoking. Sounds like the perfect trip to me.
