Brita works, so does water from a refrigerator if it has a filter.
Just remember to change the filter a couple times of year....course it also depends on how mineral heavy your water is where you're at.

You raised a good point....good filtered water will make a difference in anything we drink..coffee, tea, etc. Brita is a very good alternative for those who don't have filtered systems. We have a fridge that operates like a computer...put the filter in and it tells us with those friggin alarms when it has outlived its usefulness. It sounds alarms for everything..when the door is open, when it gets below a certain temp.,,,when the ice level is low...the damn thing is like a nagging wife. ( hope my wife doesn't read this part )

I FP my coffee and good water makes a difference...I rarely ever drink water out of the tap and this coming from a kid who used to drink well water out of the ground when I grew up.

I've tried them all and as much as I hate to admit it and sound snobby.. FIJI is the best I've ever used for any purpose. There is definitely a difference to me. From Scotch to coffee.. nothing beats FIJI.. IMO

Ha! Now if it could be programmed to ask "do you really NEED that extra slice of pizza" I might be able to lose weight.....

Obviously if you want the cleanest water with no other elements in it, then use distilled. But I just use filtered water from the filter hooked up to my faucet, and have never had buildup of any calcium/other stuff. So I'd just filter the water to protect my coffee maker from heavy elements from building up in it.
