I checked on Amazon at the prices, an they don't look that bad, but I'd rather use what I already have around the kitchen already than have another specialty appliance. Thanks to you, I am trying to cold brew some coffee right now.

Interesting process Al. We use a similar French Press method to make iced coffee as there is no substitute for good beans. I bet your's will be great.

    Re: Toddy Cold Press

Well the first batch is done and I just tried it hot with a 1 to 1 ratio.
VERY good with much less acidity than I usually get with French Roast. No sugar required.
I do however, miss the smell that comes with hot brewing.
I see myself using this for iced coffee all summer....

    Re: Toddy Cold Press

For this try, I used 1/2 the coffee and water as it says in the video
and used a French Press. I then ran it through paper filter.
Also didn't let it go the full 24 hrs.
Next time 1 lb and the full 24 hrs.
David, the lower acid content is AWESOME, especially for those of us that drink far to much coffee.

I will be making my coffee cubes with this concentrate...

    Hey there guys,

I worked at starbucks for 4 years. In those 4 years, I ONLY drank Iced Coffee.

Here's how we made it there and how i continue to make it at home.

use 2 tbsp coffee per cup of water (cup as marked on coffee pot)

So 10tbsp coffee and 5cup water.

After its done brewing, put in your sugar to desired sweetness. pour ice in the pot to get it up to 10 cups. You're essentially brewing a double batch, then adding the ice to bring it back to a drinkable strength.

Pour in a glass with some ice, add cream and stir.

    Its perfect every single time.

Oh and don't use a very dark or light roast. Something on the lighter side of medium If you want starbucks coffee, terrazza works the best, but house blend will do it too
