Can you hear me now?

Damn it, Jim! I'm a radio telescope designer, not a magician.

Zack? Anything coming through from the listening post in Outer Arkansas?

I REALLY hate to do this Zack, since I actually like you, but....

How many coat hangers did you have to twist together to get a signal?

Name: Doyle
Rank: Newbiest (1 roast under my belt so far)
Roaster: WB Hot Air Popper
Dream Grinder: Uh?
Dream Machine: Uh?

I ordered a popper that arrived Saturday. Unfornutely, I did not do enough research and ended up with the WB popper with the screen in the bottom. The beans arrived yesterday, so I gave it a shot anyway. It turned out pretty good I think roasting the Harar this afternoon. Maybe I should send out a few small samples and see what others think of my technique?

Tomorrow evening, some more roasting - hehehe!

I ain't lyin' - that was some ugly little episode. I knew I should have typographical-errored Croatino's name. Wouldn't you know a mod would spend time searching for his own name? Well. That's the last time I spell HIS name right.

However, Mr. Cro-magnon's little pectoral-flexing dip into the coffee forum will take no gloss off Drob's fabulous move into the fraternity of roasters. Welcome, sir, and my hopes that you will find years of enjoyment in the hobby that keeps so many of us occupied with other peoples cracks.

Not sure about the WB with the screen, but I borrowed a Presto pop from my in-laws that had the screen and it worked fine! You should be alright!

Re: Identify yourself: "I roast, therefore, I am..."

Name: Mike
Rank: Noob/Roasting about a week
Roaster: Fresh Roast 8 Plus & Toastmaster Popper
Grinder: Capresso Burr Grinder (The cheap one made by Salton)
Machines: Cheapo Proctor Sylex 12 cup, Bodum French Press, Hamilton Beach Espresso Machine

I will probably upgrade everything in the months to come. I have a Piggy Bank that is my Grinder Fund. I am actually getting Crema and out of the $70 HB Machine/$30 Capresso Grinder Combo. The grind is fairly uniform for now. Though I would like to upgrade to something like a Rancilio Rocky or Gaggia MDF once the Piggy Bank is full. Though if there is enough in the piggy bank, I may get something even nicer.

The HB Machine is a new toy. Just got it this week. It is a big step up from the old Krupps Steam machine I had. I will see how it performs. It is good for the money I guess. But there could also be an upgrade in the future.

Welcome to the fraternity of people with too much time on their hands (d'uh, homeroasters), Alp'55. I hope this wonderful pasttime provides you with as much enjoyment as it has for so many of us.

Have a cigar. Roast on!

Nice set up!!!

How are you liking the Rocky/Sylvia combo. I am considering the Rocky despite the possibility of Mr. Moo calling me a Cheap Bastard for not springing for a Mazzer or Macap

Nah. Cheap bastard-dom is when you buy a grinder that you already suspect may not do the job. Rocky is top flite gear. The Rock/Silv combo is a classic performance duet anyhow, right?

Hey Jon! Welcome to the fraternity of homeroasting not-quite OCD coffeeheads who smoke cigars mostly. Glad you've joined the fun. Yellow ceilings in the 21st century. Smoke on!
