another press convert

i used to be a 'bucks snob, usually the bold drip with some fixins, none of that frappa lappa double whip triple twist with sprinkles shit. i actually used to think i was drinkin the good stuff (yea what a joke)

that is until fairly recently, i then began to notice how inconsistent the brew at the local 'bucks (any of them really) actually is, and how that even on those days when it tasted decently strong, it still had no backbone and was even a little bitter, almost a hollow taste. i was craving a stronger more rich tasting coffee...

so i pick up a decent press, and decent burr grinder, and i gotta say i have seen the light! the difference is like night and day, it's amazing the amount of body and flavor i am getting compared to drip coffee. you can tell right away, upon adding a little half and half, the color is hardly affected. in fact, i find that i need to add very little fixins with press coffee, the taste is so much more balanced, the way it should be. i suspect that i might even be doing away with the creamer alltogether pretty soon.

i can't even imagine how good this stuff would taste with a batch of fresh home roasted beans. i actually have a brand new Poppery II sitting in storage, just waiting for me. won't be long now
