Mayorga Coffee

How does Mayorga rate compared to all other, I guess one could call them Micro-Roasters ?? I generally like African and Nicaraguan coffee and will get Blue Mountain or Kona when I can find it. Also are there and places online that are recommended for good coffee ? Thanks in advance.

Re: Mayorga Coffee

Welcome aboard. There has been recent talk about both coffees you mention. Here's one thread. Mayorga had $5M in sales in '06.

Re: Mayorga Coffee

yeah, mayorga's not that small any more, but they are pretty dedicated to small batch roasts as much as they can be. i live right next to their roasting facility so i think the coffee i buy is pretty fresh...

Re: Mayorga Coffee

I drink a shitload of coffee all day, so I look for something cheap and tasty. I do like Mayoga coffee, especially the French Roast and if you want something very smooth the Ethiopian Yargachieff (sp?) is also very good.

Bear in mind that $8-$10/lbs is about my spending limit

Re: Mayorga Coffee

Mayorga is always stocked at the JR stores near my house; when I buy it (infrequently) the coffee is invariably fresh and of top quality. Their prices run lower than most. I give thumbs up. cU cU cU

Re: Mayorga Coffee

About 3-4 years ago I purchased a couple pounds of each variety JR had in stock. They were doing a special price at that time. Anyway, tried it all even the decaf and it was all outstanding. The Cuban Counterfeit was a little rough but I think perhaps intentionally.
