Just a personal opinion, go to StarBucks. Its cheaper and has a better flavor.

I got a pound of whole beans once. Love it. Best coffee ever. But the price doesn't justify it (IMO). Too many other very good to great coffees to be had MUCH cheaper.

Just had some roasted today. Good stuff. Not as aromatic as the Kona but love the flavors. I think they used 520 as the roast temp and 430 as the desired bean temp.

For the money I like a Costa Rican Terrazu better than Blue Mountain. BM has been steadily going downhill for the last 15-20 years. Also, buying Blue Mountain coffee is like buying a Cohiba in the US, they grow 2 million pounds a year and about 20 million pounds are sold.

considering I can get a 24oz bag of beans of Costa Rican Terrazu at World Market for about 10 bucks. It's some tasty coffee.

Price matters a great deal when buying coffee...just like cigars! You more often than not get what you pay for.

My advise is also that it's not worth even buying JBM, 80% of this years crop was rejected before it could even leave the country. The downhill slide of JBM continues!

You're guessing, sailor - but I think there's way too much JBM appearing in glass-topped cans.

Another (always) point of agreement - Costa Rican Ta'zu is STILL the bees knees and (green) still under $4.00/lb., even for us little guys

Re: Jamaica Blue Mountain

I had bought 5 lbs of the Jamaica Blue Moutain a few years ago.

I paid $20+ a pound for it and thought I was getting a deal.

It was very good but not out of this world.

Now if I could score some green JBM to roast that might be very interesting.

Overpriced.....unless you get down there and buy some. Theres an excuse to spend a week in paradise and get some for about 11.00/lb.
