Boca Java

These folks really seem to be making a heavy marketing push lately. The three varieties I've tried thus far (Boca Villa, Costal Costa Rica, and Sumatran Sunset) are a pretty flavorful grouping. They say they are roasted upon order, and on the darker roasts it is especially evident. Overall, I'm very pleased with my experience with them. The Sumatran Sunset is a nice bold cup. Their prices are reasonable as well.

They came to my attention a month or two back as part of some kind of promotional thing where if I tried one of several vendors I would get a free year of ZoneAlarm Suite. Considering it normally costs $49 or so and I needed one for one of my computers, spending $25 or $30 on coffee seemed like a good deal, and it was.

They have a polished presentation, dare I say it, big corporation look in terms of web site, product selection, packaging and marketing. I suppose I could look it up, but I wonder if they are just a lone wolf or if someone big is behind them. They look to be on the rise.

I notice a lot of fans of Killer Beans here. Looking over their site, I might have to give them a run next; they have some nice selections and reasonable prices and seem to have a good rep here at CS. Has anyone here tried both, and if so, anyone care to offer opinions on both?

Re: Boca Java

The guy who roasts Boca Java coffee is awesome. They actually advertised heavily in the North East a while ago, but have since faded. Good to hear that they're retooling and making a heavier push. Indeed they have a great website.

Re: Boca Java

I've been curious about them. I've been thinking of peering over the edge on the coffee slope. I hear a lot of their ads during the Rush and Sean Hannity shows.
