I cannot wait for it. I think this is perfect casting Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. He looks like him and both the character and actor have Substance issues. The effects look great too. This is going to be huge!!!

Saw it acouple of months ago - it's just now making it to apple trailers. . . lookslike they are staying VERY true to the source material (with the exception of him being wounded in afghanistan instead of vietnam)

I thonk the movie is gonna rock!

I missed the Comic-con Trailer. They pulled it off of You Tube within a couple of days. Though I guess those were just taken with camcorders.

yeah it was pulled very quickly, but this is the exact preview they showed at the con. . . Jon Favreau has done a great job bringing something fans of the books will "geek out" over.

What a much better choice than when it was rumored to be Nick Cage playing Tony Stark. From the looks of the trailer Robert Downey Jr. looks fantastic in this roll. I wonder who the villian will be for the film. I would love to see them bring in the Mandarin.

Now that is very disappointing. They take a barely known villian and use an actor who specializes in comedy to play him. With all the other great Iron Man villians out there they pick this one??? Wth? Can't we atleast get someone known like the Mandarin?

Atleast the trailer looks very promising. I just hope the storyline is decent.

I quit collecting comics because of all the crappy Japanese anime and manga art they were using and the horrible storylines they started using. What a horrible way to draw comic characters. Let's just hope they don't start producing comic adapted movies with the big hands, feet and eyes of magna.

I have a feeling this may be a lot like Batman Begins, where they spend the first third of the movie going through the origin. I guess we can hope for a sequel with The Mandarin. Maybe your better off saving the better villians for the second movie. Jeff Bridges can be OK but not my first for a movie villian. And Samuel L. Jackson is in it as as Nick Fury. I think that may work!!!

I am just happy that it is not Nick Cage or Tom Cruise in the lead.

From what I read and hear, this IS going to be similar to Batman begins in scope - they are using Iron Monger in this movie because they want to focus on Starks technology. Stane stole it and made himself some armor to become the villain - this gives them the opportunity to have a tech vs tech war in the origin. The Mandarin is such a complex character they'll have to be able to tell his story with out having to tell Stark's - Mandarin is likely slated for next movie (according to Fareau)

Sam Jackson might not be a bad choice. But everyone knows there is only one actor that can play Nick Fury to the character's greatest potential.....

I guess you do need to start somewhere with the story. You can only fit so much into a 2 hr movie. Let's just hope that if they make a second one they use the Mandarin and Fin Fang Foom in the second. The Dragon Seed Saga would make a great movie. Check this out.

That story from the #270's issues of Iron Man was one of my favorites. The Mandarin is a very complex character and it would take more film time, than they would have, to explain him correctly in 2 hr movie that also includes Iron Man's origin.

All that being said, this movie looks to be great.
