The You Tube Cheesy Heavy Metal Video Contest
I said I was going to do this last week. This is a contest for a Cheesy Heavy Metal Video. A couple of weeks ago I was watching VH1 Classic and while watching Metal Mania, I just saw video after video that brought back memories of my youth. Here is the thread about the the experience:

So here we do with the contest rules. I will be the sole judge of the contest. The prize will be a gift pack of my choosing. I will just say you will not be disappointed. But the contest us subject to my taste. I will say this. I am not a fan of hair bands like Poison, Warrant, Def Leppard. But I am a fan Rainbow, Dio, Maiden, Sabbath and all things harder. Here are some of the standards you will be judged on:

* Bad Production Values- should look like it as filmed with a cam corder using sets and costumes from a Jr. High play.
* Story Line Video should tell some story, even if it has nothing at all with the song. Though a Mindless of assortment of Druids and Dancing Girls or a movie tie in is acceptable.
* Guitar Solo Must have a kick ass guitar solo. Bonus points if it is key to the story like blowing up evils dwarf, getting the girl or banishing Satan back to Hell.
*Music should be a good sounding Heavy Metal song. Yes a crappy song by someone like Winger or Nelson could win if the video was campy and cheese enough. But if it is a song I was headbanging to 20-25 years ago, you earn bonus points!!! Even a good local band that made a video in an attempt to make it big could work.

This has got about everything you can want in a cheesy video. I was a very big fan of their music too.

So go on You Tube and post a link to your link. The contest will run for One Week and the winner(or winners) will be announced next Friday.

Hey, be careful what you say about Steve Grimmett. He looked no worse than Ozzy did in the late 80s. I mean Ozzy was sporting a potbelly, bad Perm, highlights, eyeliner and about 50 mounds of Bedazzlers riveted to Spandex.
