Eastern Promises
David Cronenberg's new movie tells a story of prostitution and human trafficking in London’s Russian mobster underground. The film kicks off with a particularly brutal murder and the tension ratchets up from there. Viggo Mortensen is brilliantly menacing as the driver and minder of the local Russian mob boss' son, Naomi Watts and the supporting cast are all great. The last fifteen minutes are a bit of an anti-climax, but overall this is a very well-done movie and well worth seeing, IMO.

I agree.
It's a good film. If you're a Cronberg fan you can agree that it lacked the "Cronberg weird-ness" that is present in his films. I could have went without seeing the sauna portion of the film. |
