Not sure if some of these may be too recent

Babylon 5 (THE best TV show EVER in my opinion!)
Star Trek TNG (I could never get into any of the others)

Knight Rider
Airwolf
MacGyver

Scarecrow and Mrs. King
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Married with Children
Happy Days

Re: Favorite Classic Television Shows?

where do I start. I think TV of the past was far superior to the (mostly) crap we have today. Back in the 80's we had origionality. Today everything is a remake of a remake of a remake........

Star trek--TNG/OS
Gilligans Island
Mash
Dukes of Hazzard

Let's not forget the cartoons! kids have it rough these days with all of that politicaly correct crap. we had real cartoons!

GI Joe
Transformers
Muppet babies
Road runner
Marvin the martian

---none of those would pass the screeners today. elmer fudd would be pulled from the air waves because he was too violent. trying to shoot that poor innocent bunny. Maybe thats what's wrong with kids these days.

I really enjoyed television when I was a kid. Some of the memories are spotty but I still know most of the words to "The Littlest Hobo"... "Roaming along from town to town, someday I think I'll settle down..." I have many favorites but I wanted to dredge up some of the early ones.

Get Smart
It Takes a Thief
The Tonight Show(with Johnny Carson, especially when Don Rickles or Jerry Lewis guest hosted)
The Honeymooners
Hogan's Heroes

But if I had to choose only one, it would have to be...

...The Andy Griffith Show

Andy (hands down)
Gilligan
Twilight Zone

And if you want to feel as if you've never seen a classic TV show, grab one of those "Classic TV Theme Songs" Cds and a couple of good cigars and challenge SmokeyJoe to a Name That Show contest. You will not win...no you won't....no.....you won't
