Some old LPs Revisited
For Christmas, my wife purchased me a turntable that has a USB output, so I can convert some of my old LPs to MP3s. Software included, a little quirky, but getting better as I get to know the program. As a result, I've been experiencing some of the great songs on LPs that never got airplay, but were just as good as the hit tracks.
I'm currently working on Laura Branigan's Self Control LP. Some great songs in addition to the title track. She has a really great voice, makes me wonder why she didn't do more than a few albums. Can be clear and high, driving rock, and even husky and filled with emotion! Before this one, I converted Karla Bonoff's Restless Nights. Another clear voice that only made a couple of albums. Less rock and drive than Branigan, but still a good clear voice. Karla was a back-up singer for Linda Ronstadt, and I think she had almost as good of a voice as Linda. 15 albums down, about a hundred more awaiting (I've got many more LPs than that, only have a hundred or so picked out to convert. Already have many on CDs, but many small releases just are not out there short of greatest hits, which leaves out all the great secondary tracks. I know many of the LPs are probably on Itunes, but why pay for them again when I already have them on vinyl!! |

Re: Some old LPs Revisited
That is totally cool Cliff....I sold off my last 300 or so vinyl albums a few years ago, now I wish I had saved some of the more obscure ones!

Re: Some old LPs Revisited
Just finished burning Sons of the Pioneers, Cool Waters. Older record, but it was kept in really good condition by whoever owned it, like new condition.
I really love their music, now I have it ready at hand! (The cowboy in me coming out). |

Re: Some old LPs Revisited
I am so state of the arts, I just finished converting my vinyl's to a reel to reel. I now have 20 reels of 6 hours of music each of only the best songs from each album. If only it came with a remote
