Thumbs up Independence Day revisited

I really can't get enough of this epic movie. Sci-Fi and many technical errors aside, I loved this movie. This was actually the longest I have ever waited in line to see a movie on opening day (3 hours!), but well worth the cinematic experience. And who can argue with an excellent cigar smoking closing scene!?

Re: Independence Day revisited

You should have been around for the lines for Star Wars back in '77. Three hours was nothing.

For anyone curious.

It comes out March 11th on Blu-ray.

1080p MPEG-4 on a BD50 with DTS-HD MA audio

I'll be picking it up Day 1. Haven't owned this movie since VHS. Can't wait to see how good it looks

Yeah, I'm bad. Occasionally I will get tired of a movie... but usually if it is one of my favorites, I can sit down and watch it back to back. Drives my wife NUTS! ID4 is one of those favorites for me.

My son is the same way... exasperates my dear wife to no end that he got that from me. His movie is "Remember the Titans."

Re: Independence Day revisited

I remember the President's speech in the theatre the first time I seen it...some people actually whooped and applauded afterwards!

Re: Independence Day revisited

ID is one of those movies I can just watch and watch and watch. Same for Tombstone, Caddyshack, The Godfather, Bullit,
The Searchers,Goldfinger, Thunderball, The Untouchables, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Thing (the original), both Austin Powers flicks, and Eight Below ,especially the scenes featuring the dogs.

Just to name a few.

Re: Independence Day revisited

ID is a good movie to re-watch.
But I have to admit that I watch The Quiet Man with John Wayne every St. Paddy's day.

Then again, I watch just about any John Wayne movie that comes on...

Get a PS3 = best blu-ray player on the market. Still waiting for the DTS-MA firmware update but it's coming...........I hope.

As for ID4, have it at home, maybe it will be tonights showing. Watched I, Robot last night and was blown away by the picture - it's also mixed in DTS-MA, but the DTS track sounded awesome anyway.
