RIP Ernest Gary Gygax (July 27, 1938 – March 4, 2008)
Early this morning, E. Gary Gygax failed his final saving throw.
Called the father of the RPG, along with [SIZE=2]co-creator Dave Arneson, together they developed the RPG, and later the system Dungeons & Dragons that brought together people all over the world in a fantasy world of honor, trial, and conquest.[/SIZE] A great man, one of vision who forever changed the concept of not just games in general, but how we interact with other people while playing them. He touched thousands of lives directly, spawned a following of millions, and paved the way for an entire generation to open their minds. Roll on, Gary, it's all nat20 from here!

Although it feels like a past life ago... he was a HUGE influnce in my high school years. Now that I've set of everyone's geek alarm, I'll leave it at that.

I still own most of the original books Gary put out. He basically invent RPG's that have went from books, paper, dice, and imagination, to Movies, TV, cartoons, video games, and novels, along with many other things. What an incredible mind and great loss to the world.

we only get so many hit points. long time ago for me, but i remember that name well. had a lot of fun playing d&d back then. R.I.P.
