Re: Lost

Unfortunately the ol' lady got me addicted to it this weekend when she brought home the first season dvd set.
Fortunately she had the foresight to record the past two weeks episodes, so now I'm all caught up. I guess my Wednesday nights are tied up too now.

Charlie's about to go into trainspotting mode. I thought the guy in the quarantine was some sort of psychic that the government yanked out of the nut house and put in a deep hole, but that's dumb, they would have just killed him. Now it looks like his outfit is trying to kill the world with a disease. The patch they keep showing looks to have a scorpion tail insignia. The big electro-magnet,,,hmmm.

Oh and here's the best. You know how there are dozens of easter eggs in the show if you are familiar with stuff like philosophy (Locke, Rousseau etal) well I was tripping on the underground quarantine. It's designed pretty close to spec with a Half Life map. You will remember when you look back at the episode and see the room with the pool table and little stage. That's in a map. I think it's called Vegas and it's in Counterstrike. The writers are jerking our chains at every turn.

Re: Lost

I love the show, but I fear the whole "Charlie becomes Junkie" thing as it already covered that in the first season. I think that'd be an unnecessary extra story when there's so much else we could learn about other characters. I've also had about enough of the "backstory" stuff about the main characters. I want more ISLAND HORROR DAMMIT!!

Re: Lost

I'm also not too happy about this season so far. The first season blew me away, I had no idea TV could be that good without being on HBO.

But the second... so far I'm very underwhelmed. I was hoping for backstory on different charachters, not semi-repetitive backstory on those we've already had backstory on.

And the second episode freakin' stunk. It repeated the same time period of the first, with slightly more detail. Hopefully this is just their way of slowing events back down before accelerating to another climax.

Yeah, that bummed me out, too. I was hoping for resolution from the week before, but instead got the entire episode played out from a different perspective.

Hehehe...I did like seeing Kate squirm around in tight jeans, though...

Re: Lost

I pegged this as a must watch from the first episode, glad I was right. But looks like they're entering a second year slump. I agree that we're getting basically "repeat" backstory and not enough going on on the island. But that's the problem with shows like this, prolonging the mystery too long can kill your audience, but so can revealing the answers. And your audience will only let you "peel the onion" (X-Files, anyone?) before they give up in disgust.

And for the record, Charlize Theron doesn't own any underwear.

the kate character and the chick who did her step brother are fairly sizzling. Where did they find these treasures?

remember when Nigel or whatever the guys underground's name is, remember when he asked if anyone was sick or dying? and then the countdown clock reset. It's bio-terror of some sort. The big magnet must disrupt something and give him protection. Or maybe he has a huge supply of iron filings and makes them grab people above ground and try to pull them to the magnet kinda like playing with a Mr. Fuzzyface toy.

The show is written by some seriously affected people .

Re: Lost

This show is the most frustrating show in the history of television period!! That said, i'll be infront of the TV at alittle before 9 tonight watching ABC. It is addicting.

They came up with some good ideas. About half way through last night's show I was ready to write it off as a jumped shark (as in when the Fonz jumped the Shark on Happy Days - point where the show is a caricature of itself) but then it came back with a hilarious ending.

Gotta admit I love it. I'll take the first shift. LOL. Still too many damn holes to be taken seriously. What happened to the WW2 transmission? The French woman? Why do people keep crashing on this island?
