Can't pick just one. I'd be hard pressed to limit it to 10.

Hmmmm. I am a big fan of the Hair bands of the 80's. I like some of todays rock bands but most pale in comparison. If I had to pick on I would say Dio!!!

Re: Favorite rock band

Tough one, indeed. Esp. since "rock" is such a wide term! I haven't been following secular rock at all for about fifteen years, but as an "old fart" member here I'd say UFO, King Crimson, Beatles, Rainbow, Cheap Trick, Grand Funk Railroad, early Aerosmith, Jade Warrior, Judas Priest, etc.

Currently: The Awakening, Brandston, Bride, Alice Cooper, Disciple, Savior Machine, Divinefire, Impellitteri, Kutless, etc.

Bottom line, too many great ones to pick a top except to say The Beatles pretty much set the stage!

Aha! You remind me....Skillet, Family Force 5, Sanctus Real, and Relient K too! Yes, I'm an old fart but my daughter turned me onto these.

I'm like many of the others. It's hard to pick a favorite and mine are the old ones. Pink Floyd & The Eagles are at the top. I like Nickelback and Third Eye Blind for the new ones.

Mine has been and forever will be the mighty...IRON MAIDEN

Honorable mention goes out to Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Between the three of them they have probably influenced every other metal band since....

Re: Favorite rock band

I've seen a lot of concerts from Kiss Alive in MSG in 1976 to Queen and Ozzy to a few Stones shows but the one that is most memorable is in the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby PA in 1984 when U2 was just getting big and my buddy and I watched Bono throw down an amazing show from the 3rd row.

We were so close, we heard him asking Edge questions between songs.

Re: Favorite rock band

Tough to say because it changes so often, but I thought it would be best to let my CD count do the voting for me. My top 5:

Cradle of Filth
Korn
Metallica
Nine Inch Nails
Tool

Based on the feedback so far, most will find my choices to be

Air Supply, or maybe WHAM!

Just kidding!

Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Bob Seger, I liked CREED... Relient K, Skillet. I like all kinds of music - except opera!

Re: Favorite rock band

Almost impossible...but...
The Rolling Stones
The Kinks
The Who
Yes
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Bob Dylan
Grateful Dead
AC/DC
David Bowie
Queen
The Beatles
Bruce Springsteen and the "E" Street Band
This list is going to be too long...I listen to way too much music to really settle only on one...
Favorite Concert on the other hand....
August of 2003...The Grateful Dead (minus JG...) and Bob Dylan...oddly enough, it was also my first rock concert...
