Too old to watch South Park?

I’m 50 years old and a big fan of South Park from Comedy Central. Not too many of my friends in my age group watch South Park. My two oldest kids will roll their eyes in slight embarrassment when they have friends over if I’m laughing out loud watching South Park. My youngest, just started High School thinks it’s kewl that her daddy enjoys cartoon.

Is this normal for someone my age to enjoy foul-mouthed animated grade school-critters that talk like grownups? Just curious and want to know if anyone else around my age group watches South Park too.

I'm 2 years older than you and I'm a firm believer that you should not take yourself too seriously. South Park helps. They poke fun at everyone who thinks themselves too important. It's frequently hilarious and it doesn't take a particular political viewpoint all the time mainly because people from all view-points are pompous at least part of the time and deserve to be made fun of.
These same principle apply to other childish cartoons like "Family Guy" and "the Simpsons". Some day your kids will be old enough to appreceate South Park, too.

Re: Too old to watch South Park?

I used to watch South Park when it first came out, but soon I tired of it - the stories a little boring, the humor depends too much on "in your face" stuff, and is not very subtle ever.

43 and I love the show...the fact that is not subtle and often over the top just increases its appeal to me. The Special Olympics episode this season was the best ever.

"I'm a little bit country" is actually a great civics lesson for kids of all ages.

The one about the new method of transportation just expressed how everyone else feels about the energy squeeze. Getting azz raped. I was thinking about it yesterday. My wife works for the airlines as a flight attendant and took a 20% pay cut so they could pay for their jet fuel. That's nice to know we are subsidizing ExxonMobil. They need the money. We just cancelled satellite TV (I'm sick of paying to be advertized to) and told our guy Flores we won't be needing his lawn mowing services anymore to help cover the shortfall. So I guess Sh%$# rolls down the hill until it hits bottom. Out.

I love South Park and I don't think how old you are should matter! If you like the show, watch it and don't care what other folks think!

Hi all. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in watching SP at my age. You’re absolute right Steve that I should not take this issue too seriously. Thanks ppl.

Horrorview, great ideal! Guess what I’m going to put on my Christmas' wish list this year?

46 and love South Park.

Two of my favorite lines are from Cartman.

"You will respect my autority" ("h" purposely left out as any fan would know that is how he pronounced it).

"I am not fat, I am festively plump".

Mrs. Cartman: "What is your disability, sweetie?"

Cartman: "How should I know....I'm retarded...DAAAAAAY!"

I guess I'm the reverse of this, I'm 20 and love watching Looney Tunes cartoons from the 40s and 50s. I will watch South Park though since it's funny as hell.

+ South park is incredible at any age ..as long as you know what is going on in the world (aka current events) and have a sense of humor.
