Movie: Man on Fire

I don't get to watch many movies with three kids. But this evening my wife and I sat and watched "Man on Fire" staring Denzel Washington.

Man this was a great movie. If you like lots of action and some great acting then this is one to see.

Denzel is a body guard for a family down in Mexico, the little girl is kidnapped and he goes into recover mode!!! I would recommend this movie just because it had me on the edge for almost the entire thing, and the ending kinda got to me too.

I assume you mean that having the kids around prevents you from seeing allot of movies rather watching movies with the 3 kids. I really enjoyed the movie also but it definitely was not for children.

Was a good movie indeed. Well written. He had problems and set them all aside to do what needed done, no matter how ugly it got. The tag line for the movie says it all.

Saw it a while back. Good flick. Now I feel the urge to watch it again.

Re: Movie: Man on Fire

I really enjoyed this one!! I had to laugh as I saw the original Man on Fire (starring Scott Glenn) from the early 80's recently on cable, and it was a mess!!

Re: Movie: Man on Fire

I'd like to point out that not at any time during this movie was Denzel Washington's character physicaly on fire. Unless of course they are referring to the guy who got blown up through the ass. He was on fire for sure, but he was in so little of the movie that really doesn't work for me. The title is a bit misleading if you ask me

Don't read below if you haven't seen the movie.

The most ingenious thing about this movie was the use of Christopher Walken as a misdirection. I was too busy anticipating that the movie's big suprise (since it seems every movie must have a big suprise or twist ending lately) was going to be that Christopher Walken was behind the kidnapping ring to even suspect that the suprise was going to be that the girl was still alive.

Re: Movie: Man on Fire

To me this movie and definitely Training Day showed that Denzel can easily play the "not so nice" guy. In both cases I was able to believe him to be a Billy Bad Ass, who didn't take sh!t.

Grinch OUT!!!
