Iron Man

First off, I will say that I am a big fan of Iron Man. I used to collect the comics and was my favorite title for a long time. I have been looking forward to the movie for a couple of years now. That could have lead me to be disappointed like I was with Hulk, Daredevil and Fantastic Four. But I was not.

It was done well. Robert Downey Jr. is just about perfect casting for Tony Stark. He plays a good drunken funny smart ass and physically looks like the character in the book. The supporting characters all do a good job.

There is a good mix of action and dialog so you do not feel like you are watching a live action cartoon. The CGI stuff looks great. It is as realistic as you could expect for a movie about a guy in a flying armor suit. To me the effects in Spiderman look too Cartoony at times. I did not get that feeling with this.

A lot of the plot is taken up by the origin story, so after that, the movie seems to go by quickly. I will not give anything away other than say, the villain smokes a cigar in most his scenes. I mean, it is not a mystery. After the first 45 minutes, you pretty much know what is going to happen. So there are no big plot twists. The script has a lot of one liners and a few good chuckles.

But if it makes enough money, I am sure a sequel will be even better. They did not do the Batman (89' Version), where they kill off the best villain in the first movie. They have a lot of territory and some good storylines if they want to make a couple more movies.

I would rate this up there with the First Spiderman movie. Good story line, casting and great effects. Tough to find any big flaws in this one.

Re: Iron Man

I have to agree on every point. Great action movie, lots of stuff for just about everyone to enjoy. They did a great job of sticking to the basic Iron Man story line, just updated to present day. This movie ROCKS! I hope there's a sequel.

Re: Iron Man

I'm not going to make many friends by saying this, but this is my honest opinion:

I hate super-heroes, comic books, and almost everything related to them. I loved the new Batman with Christian Bale, mainly because he doesn't have any super-powers, but creates a persona to help fight the bags of douche in Gotham, but I never, ever got into Superman, Spiderman, or anything else like that.

That being said, Iron Man was an excellent film. The sound is fantastic, as are the graphics, the storyline is really cool (and relative to our current climate), and it's pretty funny, too! Downey Jr. does a great job as Stark, and Jeff Bridges is a very unassuming villain.

Be sure to stay after the credits to see Samuel L. Jackson in all his glory!

Dumbest. Terrorists. Ever.

But it wasn't too bad an idea to make Jarvis a computer in order for the Tony/Pepper relationship to be more important...

Here is what is in the pipeline:

2008 Punisher War Zone
2009 Wolverine
2010 Iron Man 2, Thor, Spidey 4
2011 Captain America, Avengers

I guess Downey Jr. has a cameo as Tony Stark in the upcoming Hulk Movie. And they plan to give Thor a cameo in Iron Man 2. It seems like they are trying to set up a Movie Universe and use all the actors from the movies in the Avengers movie.

Re: Iron Man

I loved the movie. I was a little annoyed by the cliche cigar-smoking villian, but since I didn't read the comic, maybe that was accurate. Great movie, looking forward to the sequel. I wasn't sure Downey Jr. could pull off a superhero, but he did an awesome job.

I'm very glad I stayed through the credits. Even though my bladder nearly ruptured. LOL

Good Luck it was on Youtube, but marvel has had it removed.

Yes this was the best Comic Movie to date, and they will only get better from here out with marvel Studios keeping them "In-House" (well the avengers anyway).

I love that they Had S.H.I.L.E.D in the movie, I expect to see S.H.I.E.L.D. In the Hulk.

Oh, and anyone who isn't planning on seeing the new Hulk because if the disaster that was the last Anige Lee Hulk Movie. Don't worry, this has nothing to do with it (well other than the fact thats its the Hulk). It will be GREAT as well!

I am IRON MAN!!!!
