George Carlin Dead at 71

I'm going to light up a nice cigar after work and watch some standup, or maybe Dogma.

RIP George.

Truly sad. I was fortunate enough to actually meet him in person back in the mid 90's when I was doing residential low voltage work at his home in the Pacific Palisades. Such a great and down to earth guy that made this world a little better by bringing so much laughter to so many.

Just getting this news...I was curious why XM Comedy played a few Carlin interviews back to back yesterday and last night. I was driving from errand to errand and didn't catch that he had passed. RIP, George--your levity and irreverance for our societal sacred cows helped more people than you might have ever known.

Re: George Carlin is dead

I was always a big fan of his but was very disappointed a few short years ago when I paid dearly to see him live in Las Vegas. He said he was trying out new material.

I will always remember:
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

RIP

Re: George Carlin is dead

I grew up listening to "Class Clown" and all the old classic albums from the 70's. I think the thing I liked the most about GC was that he always made you think as he made you laugh. Saw him live a few times and he was great.

No take any shit off anybody up there George!

Re: George Carlin is dead

i have had hundreds of laughs and chuckles because George was simply George. His political stuff wasn't as strong as his observational material, but he was a great comedian, and a pretty damn funny Hippy Dippy weatherman.

Re: George Carlin is dead

A very sad day indeed! I remember watching him as a kid on Shining Time Station, after he took over for Ringo Starr!! He was a very funny man.

RIP George Carlin
