Just returned from a 5am Imax showing (everything else was sold out!). We only had 20 people in the whole theater so the viewing couldn't have been more perfect. Great movie, Ledger definitely stole the show to the point that you forget Christian Bale is even in it. Definitely a must see.

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

Saw it last night at 8pm on the Saturday of opening weekend at the most popular theater in Oregon... you'd think I was nuts or something lol.... but if I was gonna pay 9$ a ticket to see the movie, I wanted to see it in a DLP theater.

Surprisingly enough with a theater with zero free seats, there wasn't any talking. Not any chit chat... nothing. Everyone just sat and watched and shared the occasional laugh.

It was probably one of the more memorable theater experiences I've had in quite some time, and the performance brought to the table by Heath Ledger was easily one of the most frightening things I've witnessed in a long time. Couple that with this being his legacy performance and it was enough to send you chills.

He left nothing of himself in this performance and if by some miracle someone went to this movie not knowing Heath was in it, they'd never be able to guess it was him.

A+, solid flick, must see, oscar nomination worthy performance by Heath

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

Great movie...now what do they do with the third movie and villian. Could there been some clues in this one.

1. When talking about the new suit, the guy says that it can protect against a cat. (Catwoman, hope she is better looking then the main girl was in this one)

2. The guy who was going to turn in Bruce Wayne as Batman, name was Mr. Reese, Mystery (Riddler)? Just a hunch.

Wow, that was quite possibly one of the best movies I have seen, and definately the best Batman movie yet.

They do leave a lot of questions unanswered, leaving plenty of room for the next movie. It will be interesting to see where the next one goes

Also noticed the trailer for the Terminator 4 and the New 007, both of which looked pretty good.

I have my guesses...

[SPOILER!] Cat woman or The Riddler as played by Mr Reese (the blackmailer) [/SPOILER]

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

I saw this today at the 1435 showing. I could not wait, I went in there like a little kid, all giddy and excited and I can say that I was in NO WAY disappointed. Heath Ledger was at his finest in this film and was so damn convincing as the Joker that he re-defined the character and I feel did it justice finally, Jack Nicholson was a fine Joker - but Heath is the new Joker as Bale is the new Batman.

I cannot wait to see where the series goes from here, their are SO many possibilities.

I don't know... the riddlers name was Edward Nashton before he (legally) changed it to Edward Nygma.

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

Ledger played the Joker as he should be played, and was extremely faithful to the character. One of the greatest individual performances ever, surely made even greater by the fact he is no longer with us.

The villian in the next movie will be the Black Mask. I'd put stacks of money on it. Also Bane and Poison Ivy would probably be doable.

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

Talking with an old teammate of mine last night, big comic book guy, he seemed to think that Mr. Freeze is a pretty good possibility. I did think that Mr. Reese could become Mr. Freeze. I guess we'll all have to wait and see

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

I figutred I'd wiegh in on the "who is the next villian" question. Keep in mind that the bent for this Batman is psuedo-realistic so you'd never see someone like Mr. Freeze. Remember Arnold and how silly that entire movie looked, how could you do Mr. Freeze relaistically and not lose everything you've built with this restart?

I have it on good authority that the two leading possibilities for the next movie, the things most capable of producing action while holding up the current dramatic thread are Catwoman and the death of Robin. Bane is in the running but those are the threads they are looking at as they move into treatment territory.

I think the director, or from what I have read, claimed they would never use the Robin angle since it was so bad in the previous movies, see Mr. Freeze as well. Bane was used already but sparringly and once again badly. I still think Catwoman is a great idea, especially with the clue that was said to Wayne about the new Batsuit. I also read on a thread that Jolie would be a great person for Catwoman, and she fits that role perfectly. Listen to me, I dont even read comic books and never have, but seeing that movie actually made me love this franchise again.

Christian Bale said he didn't want to see Robin. Which I agree with, Robin sucks.
