Re: True Blood?

Another great episode. Maybe I missed a detail in the past, but will someone answer me this:

Why did Claudette (the young hot waitress) have bite marks, had sex with a vampire, but wasn't a vampire. Why did Bill get bit by the lady in the house in the 1800's and become a vampire? I thought it was obvious that if you were bit, you became a Vampire, but it seems Claudette did not. What gives?

My thoughts: Claudette wasn't given the opportunity to drink the vampire's blood, which is how you become a vampire. She was bitten, but not drained, and apparently not given the opportunity to drink.

Which makes me wonder if Jason will eventually become a vampire from drinking the "V".

I like the glimpses into the past, it gave the show a whole new dimension. I think it is going to get better each week.

Re: True Blood?

I was about ready to give up on this thing but for the last episode; the whole subplot with the priapism was ridiculous, but I liked the few moments in which the show was a little less campy and stupid. It actually was more 'hardcore' in some ways. It's still goofy, though, and the script is horrible. My wife walked in on one of the episodes and commented on the acting being bad, which I still think is attributable to the writing. Something keeps me coming back, though. My wife walks around making fun of the vampire, saying "Sookie" in this horrible southern draw. We'll see what happens...

I think the same rule applies here. Jason hasn't been bitten so he can't become a Vampire until bitten. I'm curious though if he has to be bitten by one of the same Vampires whose blood he drank or just any Vampire. Damnit! you need a degree in Vampirology to follow this!

Re: True Blood?

True Blood ...it's entertaining and I'd guess that's about all it's meant to be...at least it's a bit different from all the cop/legal/medical show clones that that ya need a program to tell the difference between...

I am checking my local Junior College for this degree program. Hopefully there will be some hot chicks enrolled in it.

Re: True Blood?

Yeah, last night's episode has me full in again. I thought it was one of the best and believe it has open some new story lines and ideas, as I can see from the dialogue here. But they really have played up the "who-dunnit" murderer, now with another victim. (insert vampire smiley gif here)

Re: True Blood?

What's up with the dog? There seems to be a correlation with Sam (bar owner) and the dog that keeps showing up in random places.

Might be just me, but I think Sam is the dog.

-Barks in his sleep.
-Rolls around in Claudette's blankets after she's murdered and smells them?
-Obsessed with Sookie and follows her/watches over her.

I don't know, but it seems that's what they want you to think.

Sam is a shapeshifter and can change into animals. He prefers the form of a dog. Don't think he is a werewolf but he does have the urge to shift during the full moon and later on will date a werewolf. There are all kinds or supernatural beings in this series from demons to were-tigers.

Also Sookie gets her telepathy from the faerie blood in her veins. Since her grandmother has died look for witches to also be introduced into this series. We will also find out why Sookie hasn't had many relationships with men later in the series. I won't spoil the series any further.

I love this show, my wife and I watch every week.

A little different from the True Blood topic but still in the realm of vampire, there are actual people in the world that live as Vamps. Teeth, claimed psychic powers, blood feeding, and many other vamp type things are all a reality to these people. These people live their lives as vampires, even to the point of having councils of higher ups and such. Just a little food for thought for the people who watch this show.

Good catch. I for some reason thought Sam might be the dog, but never put my finger on it until you laid out the first two points.

Brent, some interesting thoughts from you as well. I have a female aquaintance who has the fangs and follows many of those things, though I have no idea if she actually drinks human blood. Maybe I am better off that she lives 1200 miles away.

While she may not be of the "type" that drink blood. I can assure you there are many that really do and people literally beg to be "bitten" by them. It's actually about that time of year when many do "feed".
