When I watched it in the 80s it was broadcast on the local PBS channel without commercials as well. I really hope the Sci-fi channel dosn't cut anything. My guess is that they will increase the length.

Hell even if it is cut I will be happy with it. The original show had damn good writing and Bad special effects and that I think was the key Give me good writing and bad effects any day.

Well now Dr Who has good danm writing, and great damn effects. To be honest, they stuck with the idea, and Doctor Who is still a quintessentially british program... what's even better is the fact only 2 americans show up in the whole thing, and both of them are bad guys. If they cut it, I would vote for screaming and kicking and demanding that you want a FULL episode... write to Sci-Fi and BBC America and protest your disgust! I know there are small things that may not seem important, but it helps with the story line and stuff, trust me.

That brings back fond memories of being able to spot the floors shaking and the walls wobbling. I can really appreciate the use of special effects back then. Seems CGI is way overused today.

I myself found it very enjoyable. They kept the original "feel" for the show.
