I think they are on #9. The newest one is called David Tennant.

I was also a fan in the past, though have not seen an episode in several years now. Was not particularily impressed with the movie made a couple of years ago!

Re: Who Comes to Sci-Fi

The made a Doctor Who movie a few years ago? do you mean the 1996 one? Which was, I agree, quite shite. The series you guys are about to see, however, ****ING ROCKS! And the Xmas special with David Tennant makes me think I'm gonna enjoy 'series 2' even more!

One question though, the episodes are an hours running time (well, about 55 minutes) where are you guys gonna put the ads, or is it gonna have a final 'run time' of longer than an hour in the US? Cos if ya'll cut it... well, I'm gonna have to do something.

[Edit: There is one episode that is truly scary... don't let your young kids watch it! But won't tell you which one.]

Re: Who Comes to Sci-Fi

I became a fan when they brought it to the US in the 70's(?). The movie in the 90's was very limited and needed a series to go with it. Now my quandry is that I'll have to breakdown and get digital cable or a dish because they took SciFi off analog cable.

Quick Update to this: Including Paul McGann in the movie, David Tennant is Dr. 10. Oh, and if anyone in the US remembers K-9, Dr Who's robot dog... he comes back in the new second series! I think, and hope.

Re: Who Comes to Sci-Fi

The series I saw back in the 80's bored me to tears so I never tried it again. But I understand this is an all new series so I am going to give it a chance. I hope I will like it this time around.

Has it been 10 years since that movie?? I thought maybe only 3 or 4 years, but I do remember the movie was set around the witching hour of midnight, at the change of the millinium; so guess it was older than I thought!!

Original series ran over here on the public channels, without commercials. Will be interesting if they cut run-time, or increase to a 1 1/2 hour time slot. Sci-Fi channel is big on one hour series, so I'm guessing they will have to cut something.
