I love this show, (and most everything David Kelley has done). It is funny, wacky, and serious all at once.

I especially enjoy the last scene each week where Shatner and Spader retire to the balcony to have a drink and a smoke. It seems like a great way to end a work day. This is one of the very few places on TV where cigar smoking is even acknowledged and I think they portray the ciger smoking experience in a wonderful way. What do you other BOTL's think?

Is it legal in Boston to post trademark names without that lil symbol thingie? If so, do I get an exemption from the law due to dyslexia?

I like the show as well. We smoke cigars and watch it every week.

Just realized that the show's name is Boston Legal, not Boston Public...that was an old show about a school. Boy what a brain cramp!
I shouldn't be trying to work and post at the same time.

The show is pretty good. Shatner's character kicks ass. I'm glad he is back on tv.

Love the guy... this character is OUTRAGEOUS!

Wanting to put a bell on the midget just killed me... and all of the "mad cow" stuff and ending most of his thoughts with "Denny Crane" is a fun affectation. Great TV!

That show is great. Denny Crane just kills me, plus the last scence is great, it good to see a couple guys relaxing and reflecting on a long day/week.

Formerly "The Practice". This show is going down hill IMHO! The Practice was fantastic but I imagine it really got a boost when Spader('s character) joined and the first bits of the Boston Legal spin-off were good but meh, they're waning.

I still enjoy it quite a lot but they've gone much too much into weird characters instead of storyline these days for someone who loved the mix of characters and story in The Practice. Now it seems to be more about introducing a new and more bizarre character in each new episode.

Still miles above a lotta crap on the hellavision these days without a doubt!

I was a little concerned this week when they were sans stogies on the balcony and took great pleasure in their new snippy tone displayed in the absense of their nic-o-stix Bring back the gars!

What did you all think of the season premier? I thought it was pretty funny, but like yayson said sometimes too much on the wacky characters and not enough courtroom.

I thought it was pretty good too, there were some definite funny parts, the bathroom scene was hilarious. But I agree as well with the show focusing on the people and not the cases anymore. I think it's ok, as long as they don't bring in more and more people. I like 'Hands' though, I thought he was a good character to add. I'm sure new characters will come in though, David Kelley did say he likes to keep it fresh, which is a main reason Alan has a new girlfriend pretty much every season. I don't know I guess all I can do is watch and find out, which is exactly what I plan on doing o
