There's NOTHING wrong with Porky's. Classic movie. One of my favorites of all time. But not ALL remakes are lousy. It would be nice to see a remake....but it would need to be done right.

remakes make money plain and simple. i still cant see how the movie companies can improve on some of these movies though.

the way a movie is, is the way a movie should be and never remade or altered.
Hollywood can't come up with anything original and are afraid of anything that is different so they rape movies that are great the way they are.

A war on remakes!!

Even independent films are getting crappy or good ones get remade! It seems that soon all we will see is remake after remake and remakes of remakes! Kinda like now.

It's sickening to me.
Nothing is sacred anymore. Nothing is respected. And there is no pride in what is made or remade today.

If it's not a remake it's a rehash of something else that was most likely better to begin with but now has zero originality added!

Porky's is great! and will be remade as well.

I heard they were going to do a remake of Escape From New York, but i think its been put on the back burner for now. Don't forget Red Sonja, which i don't mind since the original wasn't good, that's what they should do is remake bad movies instead. The thing that irks me is Hollywood is trying to make everything PG-13; sacrificing a stories creativity/integrity to make a few xtra bucks . Yahoo my 100th post!!!

I hate remakes. It doesn't matter how good people think they might be, remakes suck and shouldn't be made.

Actually, Howard Stern owns the rights to Porky's. Supposedly there is a script on it. But that does not always mean it will get made.

I'm curious as to where you got this list.

I was always a big fan of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and had heard a remake was being done, but as far as I know that project has been dead for well over a year now.

If it's back on I for one am psyched, but I think your intel may be a little out of date.

Generally I hate remakes, although once in a blue moon it will be good.

Re-imaginings (or "reboots") seem to be the hot thing nowadays, and those generally seem to turn out better..... sometimes *much* better.

You really think so? I'm not really the biggest fan of remakes either, but I wouldn't go as far as you with it. You also made the comment that there is no pride in what is made today-I really disagree with that comment and that can be found in a lot of independent directors (pride).

Well, No pride in Hollywood I should say,I know a lot of pride and love goes in to Indi films.

Also a few excellent movies did come out that were buried and ignored with crap hyped rehashes.

I just find that I've gotten more out of a 25min indi short then what hollywood puts out.

I can't see how anyone can have pride in making something that's already been done. It's like tracing the Mona Lisa on paper and taking the credit.
