Thumbs up Gran Torino

just seen this flick today. What an excellent movie. I thought it moved kinda slow in the character development, but it was all purposeful. CE was awesome as a mean guy; I thought it was a really unique roll for him. The movie was long, but there was a reason for everything in the movie. The movie drew me in and did not distract me like other 2 hour long movies. Go out and see it now to draw your own conclusion. I think most people will enjoy it!

Re: Gran Torino

Some of my favorite Clint Eastwood quotes...........

"I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it."

"In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig."

"I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it."

Gotta agree. Really enjoyed the movie and Clint's performance. A bit too much overt growling and snarling from CE, but otherwise a superb flick.

Highly recommended!

Toad was a horrible actor, IMHO! Again, CE pulled the cast along. It actually worked.

Re: Gran Torino

Saw this last night and I really enjoyed it. One of the best performances I have seen by Clint in quite a while.
I give it

Re: Gran Torino

Clint was good and I thought alot of parts were funny. But when it tried to get serious it was laughable in a bad way due to bad acting by pretty much ever other character. It was still a decent movie but I wouldn't watch it again over the classic westerns or dirty harrys.

Yeah, Toad was pretty bad. He seemed to really struggle with his role trying to make his acting seem relaxed and natural. Much too awkward and contrived. Without Clint in the scenes with him his acting would have been hard to watch.

I hear that! Probably because every other word was a derogatory! He called them slurs to their faces and didn't give a $hit!
