Granted, it was a nice moment when the closet doors slid open to reveal Phil's smiling face. Still, it's not clear to me why he had been waiting for Vito in the closet. And why that shot of Phil later, lying in bed next to his wife, on his back with his hands crossed on his chest and his eyes open?
I'm thinking Phil is worried about the repercussions of his wacking Vito. As much as he wanted to do it, he knows he's opened up a can of worms by taking matters into his own hands and killing a made guy from Tony's family. Tony had the same look of worry in the truck after leaving pork store and discovering Sil and Carlo had killed Fat Dom. This can't lead to anything good. Tony is worried now...so he got his lazy son a job in hopes of keeping him clear and giving him a chance.

Agreed. I think Phil is worried of what he has gotten himself into.

I think we are in store for something good this week.

I agree, can't wack Phil, he may have to off someone in his own crew though to avoid a war...say he didn't know and killed the person who he thought was responsible.

I don't think there is a new episode this week, just the last 3 episodes. Then the last one next week.

Re: Who will go first on the Sopranos

I rushed home from a Picnic because the person who had the gathering didn't have HBO. 1/2 of the party left to watch.. How disappointing! I did watch the last episode again.
I think Phil laying in bed with his arms crossed is a premonition, He knows Fat Dom is missing, he has to assume it was in retaliation for Vito. You don't kill a made guy without permission, right? Phil being acting boss is tenuous, at best. He'll have no choice but to save face in front of "his guys" which will leave NY with no cash flow from NJ.. I think Phil will look to hurt Tony by whacking someone very close to him - Chris? Then it's to the mattresses for a good old school free for all.

What do ya think plausible?

Is there one more season?

There are eight more episodes beginning January 2007. I am hoping that we get some good stuff out of the last episode of the season. All the signs are pointing to NY and NJ going to the mattresses. Tony said last week, in talking with Sil about how to respond to Vito's getting whacked, that all Phil cares about is money. I don't know if that is true. Johnny Sac was much more the business man than Phil. Phil has been nothing but a problem for Tony concerning personally matters - the handling of Tony B. and now Vito. He doesn't act with the business in mind but based on his emotions. Tony doesn't want to go to war because people aren't out on the street earning. But Phil, I'm thinking, is going to push things too far.

Christopher isn't going to be faithful to his new wife too long as apparently he is supposed to be hooking up with Julianna Margolis' (spelling?) character.

Any thoughts on any surprise whackings this Sunday?

Re: Who will go first on the Sopranos

Am I the only person that thinks this season has been kind of a disappointment? Very uneventful and Tony has been kind of a pansy..

Re: Who will go first on the Sopranos

Yeah, I'm a big Sopranos fan too but what a letdown. The upcoming scenes from the next episodes were what kept leading me to believe the show would finally breakout. It never happened. Oh well, will Jan 07 ever get here?
