Walk the Line

Rented this the other night and really enjoyed it. Gives a little bit of insight into the life of one of the great performers of our time. Phoenix and Witherspoon did outstanding jobs playing the lead characters, especially since they did all their own singing. I'd recommend renting it if you haven't seen it yet.

I saw it a few weeks ago with my brother, and it was a great movie. We had the doubt if they had singed themselves, but werent sure about it. I really liked this movie.

If you like the movie, be sure to check out his biography. It's a fantastic read!

Watched this last night on Pay per view and really enjoyed it. I, too, was very impressed by the performances of Phoenix and Weatherspoon. It was worth the price.

Re: Walk the Line

I love Johnny Cash, my dad was always a huge fan and I grew up hearing him. He has a great life story but I didn't like this movie. I didn't really dislike it strongly either, it just didn't grab me like I hoped it would. It's not bad per se, I was just disappointed.

Although, I'm not a big movie guy. I think I have too short of an attention span, so take it for what it's worth.

Re: Walk the Line

I liked it for what it was. Of course I'm a fan, the movie was decent, as far as movies go. The difficulty is compressing someone's life into two hours and making it believable. Of course it came out hokey in most parts, but it was still pretty neat to see the music and stuff.

His autobiography is a good read if you liked the movie.

Re: Walk the Line

I liked the movie overall. Phoenix and Witherspoon were outstanding. I am a Cash fan; the man was larger than life in so many ways, and I think a good man at heart. His life was practically a blues/country music song. Just a fascinating subject that transcends generations and genres.

I have to say though, that compared to another recent movie about a music icon, Ray, it was not as good. I thought both subjects were really too big to be covered in a typical length movie, but I connected with Ray better than I did with Walk The Line. Still well worth going to, IMO.
