Kong

I recently watched "Kong" and I just wanted to say that it was better than I thought it would be.
Ive never seen the older version, but this one was full of stuff I did not see coming. Poor girl never seems to be able to catch a break.

The movie starts out slow, but after about 15-20 Min's it picks up and does not let back down.
Its got a Cute star, Big monkey, bugs, bats, boats, big , guns, some great action scenes and did i mention a big monkey?

If you like action, or sci-fi, or if you just like big monkeys, I'd watch this movie.

I know its not the best review you've ever heard, but I thought I would share.

David

Re: Kong

I'd have to agree with you, in this day and age of Hollywood refilming and old movies this one was pretty good.

The bug scene in that Valley was gruesome though in a creepy crawly sort of way..

Planned on picking this one up this week. I don't care how many people talk down on the old ones, I always loved them regardless of how fake the puppet King Kong looked.

Re: Kong

I liked this version of King Kong. Thought the computer graphics for Kong were excellent. Better than Star Wars. Did think the film was about 20 minutes too long though. They kind of dragged out the ending.

Re: Kong

It was a very good movie.

The only bad part was is that it took an hour before the action started. It was definatley a little draggy.

They also cut out an important part as to when they took Kong off the Island and his venture to New York.

Re: Kong

no kidding. it's like the director got finished with the jungle action stuff and discovered he was 2 and 1/2 hours into it. Everything goes fast after they put the ape to sleep. I thought the action sequences were good. Naomi Watts was not Jessica Lang or Fay Wray sexy. She was dull. That kind of killed the movie for me. That and knowing the ending LOL.

After watching this one and then Capote, I think a giant Capote that falls in love with Naomi Watts would have been ideal. He could have swatted down the planes with his handbag. Ugh.

Capote is next on my To Watch list.

I liked Kong very much. I am a fan of the original, but Peter Jackson did a remarkable job in the remake. Jackson is a very talented guy. Spielberg better watch over his shoulder...

Re: Kong

Saw it at a premier theater place where the screen appears to half surround you; this just made the scenes on the island unbelievable. Best graphics I have ever seen. To be honest I thought the part prior to the island and returning to NY was a bit boring although I understand integral to the story.

Re: Kong

I have the DVD sitting on my coffee table at home. When I can spare 3.5 hours, I'm going to watch it. I've really heard nothing but good things about this movie. Cannot wait to find out for myself.

Please don't take mine as the final word but Capote sucked. badly. Edit: Poor choice of words.

I tried to watch it twice. I feel asleep twice. The way hollywood fawned over it (gay and all) you would have thought it was fantastic. It stunk.

Re: Kong

Watched this saturday. Very entertaining! A little too drawn out, and a bit over dramatic, but overall a verg good movie.
