What bugged me the most though was the cost of movies these days. For instance, my man and I usually go to one of those "Dinner And a movie" places. For two people (with his student discount): $10 for both of us. And then whatever we spend in beer/food. NOW, the theater we went to last night (an AMC one): $17 for both of us, WITH his discount and this was before 6 pm! It was insane! And people wonder why DVDs are getting more popular!
It's $10 Per Person in my neck of the woods

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought that Craig was more of a Bond than many have been--he has that cold-hearted son of a b!tch thing down.

Re: James Bond- Casino Royale Trailer

Daniel Craig makes an excellent Bond: the best since Sean Connery. The fascination of the Bond character has always been that of a very tough guy in a well tailored dinner jacket. Roger Moore, Pierce Brosman only managed the dinner jacket part.

The movie was about 30-45 minutes too long and what plot there was was a bit hard to follow at times but otherwise I thought it was a creditable and enjoyable attempt to revive the franchise. The producers have obviously learned a lot from the success of movies like The Transporter and Department B13.

Re: James Bond- Casino Royale Trailer

Saw the show with my daughter Saturday.

Not bad. A few scenes dragged a bit.
It got a little George Lazenby/Diane Rigg -y for a while. Ummm.... not so good, but overall, 4.5 out of 5 for a bond movie.

And yes, I think Craig did a creditable job. More true to the way Fleming wrote the character as a flawed human being.

The opening credits were a bit lame, compared to some. I think... gag... that the Madonna Die Another Day credits are some of the best lately. Even though I think Madonna is getting to be a scary old Harpy in her middle age.

From what I've heard, it revitalizes the role with a believing actor (acting and physical appearence) Can't wait to see it.

Very good movie, went more into the character and less the technological toys of some of the latest Bond flicks, found it to be a nice change. Two thumbs up.

I missed Q but It was more believeable now. he's not superman. which is nice. Dainel Craig Is the best bond yet. well at least ties with Connery. I really loved the movie though.

Thumbs up Re: James Bond- Casino Royale Trailer

I got a chance to see the movie. Very good but a bit long, could have trimmed 10 minutes or so to maintain the pacing. As mentioned in previous posts, the movie goes for realism instead of some of the campyness that was in some other previous flicks. Craig does a good job giving Bond a ruthless/dangerous side, a minor draw back is that they should have shown him using his charm as weapon a little more just like Connery did back in the old days. Hopefully Craig will show this aspect more in future sequels, overall, very enjoyable 007 movie. Still curious as to how it would have worked out if Clive Owen took the part.

Re: James Bond- Casino Royale Trailer

Saw the film this weekend- IMO, the best Bond film since the Connery days, perhaps better. I agree it was maybe 15 minutes too long, but I enjoyed virtually every minute. Craig's Bond is not afraid to get a little dirty and bloody. No supercrime-villains, space blasto-laser beams or campy dialogue, but finally some decent acting and more realistic scenarios.

Two big thumbs up

Re: James Bond- Casino Royale Trailer

It was enjoyable, but they could definitely have cut about 15 mins near the end. It just dragged. Was sitting in the theatre with my brother-in-law and both of us commented several times about it being a romantic comedy or something...

Re: James Bond- Casino Royale Trailer

Definitely the best Bond film in recent years. Highly recommend it for the plot, acting, casting, and action. Much more realistic film than other recent ones. It's not clogged with canned dialogue or scenes where you feel they did just to stick in commercial products (although there is some of that, it's not overdone).
