what movie was the first to scare you as a kid?
with me i remember watching salems lot and being scared to death.
right in the middle of the movie we got a phone call saying that my dad had broken down on his way home from work and was hit and run by a car.

still not sure if the little boy floating outside the bedroom window scared me more or the trauma the my dad had endured.

i was really little and didnt really understand what was going on so probably both.

never did finish that movie and probably never will!

i was just thinkin of this the other day and was wondering what movies scared everybody else when they were little?

Home with my little sister in the dark watching it. It must have been the mid to late '70s. I was young. Parents out to dinner. scary chit man.

I am still waiting to get scared like that from a movie.

The theme music from the Exorcist got some airplay on pop radio in the 70's -- just hearing that music was scary!

I think the first horror film I saw that was scary to me was 1971's "Willard", a movie about rats. The sequel was called "Ben", and is probably more well known due to the theme song which was a hit by Michael Jackson when he was still a cute little boy.

I saw Willard at a drive-in with my family when I was maybe 5 years old.
