Pirates of the Caribbean II: Dead Man's Chest

Great fun. Just what you would expect. A fast paced action movie with plenty of memorable characters, in-jokes, first rate sets, costume design, and special effects. If you liked the first one, you’ll love the second. It would pay to watch the first on DVD again before you see it.

Here's the funniest review I've come across.

I forgot to mention: just like #1, it's worth staying to the end of the credits to see the resolution of one important plot line.

Saw it yesterday. We both loved it! Hilarious and entertaining. Didn't have a chance to stay till the end.

What happened?

Ditto. Just saw it today. Although there might have been just too much action, and not quite enough focus on the dynamics between the characters, but it was thoroughly enjoyable anyway. Unfortunately we split before the end of the credits, so we missed the spoiler.

Can't wait until POCIII, though. It's only a matter of time...

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean II: Dead Man's Chest

Just got back enjoyed it and the ending!! Leaves room for more to come...Reminded us of Buster Keaton, Errol Flynn etc. Very much in that line of slapstick etc. Loved getting in on it. The place was packed to the hilt and we had to buy tickets early!!

Can't wait to see this one, glad to hear it's not the usual watered down sequel.

It would seem Nicholas was the only one withthe good sense to stick around till the end. It's almost a stapl anymore, that there is a little surprise post-credits. Our theater was so packed as soon as the credits hit, everyone was heading to the doors (and bathrooms...dang 2 1/2 hr movies).

Pirates 3 starts filming in the next week or so, I think it's supposed to be out by next summer. Lots of loose ends, and with the little plot twist at the end, should be a good one. You could tell about half way through, that this one was setting a ton of things up for the 3rd movie. It was still a fun movie, well worth watching.

Took the Gypsy Princess took see it yesterday... we both loved it. Of course we waited until the end of the credits... we were the only two left in the theatre... Thew Princess still thinks the monkey is an evil little thing.

Actually Pirates 3 has been filming for a while... they are on hiatus right now, but they filmed a lot of it at the same time as this one.
