It's a Lake Erie Water Snake. This species of snake has gotten so isolated because of the island's up in the sandusky area that they are their own species now..via the name...That one happens to be banded..they also come solid color to blend in where there are limestone banks. The banded ones blend in well with the rocky banks just like at Dave's place...less predation when blending in...higher % chance to survive.

Snakes on a Plane is a lot of good fun punctuated by a great performance by Samuel Jackson doing a caricature of himself. The movie doesn't take itself seriously for a minute and is about as good a B-movie as you'll see.

All i know about those snakes is that they scared the crap out of me when i was little and went swimming at put-in-bay.

Didn't see the movie although I am a big fan of airplane disaster movies (a sick fascination I think because I travel alot) but those snakes!!! I hate snakes. No thanks, I'll pass!!!
