Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
Well, I know there is already a season 4 thread, but its more about waiting for season 4 to start, well, Season 4 started last tuesday and we've already gone through 2 episodes.
4.1 - Cindi Plumb - Sean and Christian may be celebrating a milestone surgery, but it looks like the future of McNamara/Troy is in jeopardy. Julia tells Sean some devastating news about the baby. Christian decides to redecorate his apartment after a disturbing appointment with his psychiatrist. 4.2 - Blu Mondae - Sean and Julia make a big decision regarding their unborn baby. Julian and Sean hit troubled waters with their new boss and begin to realize what it really means to have sold their business. Matt's family doesn't quite get his decision to pursue a new path in his life. Well, from the first episode, we find out Sean and Julias baby has a rare birth defect, ectrodactyly, given the slang term "Lobster-Hand Syndrome". This comes as a surprise to Sean and he finally let in to sell the company to Michelle and her older man (30 years, think Anna Nicole Smith) who had come in for testicle enlargement surgery. They are able to continue their jobs, they just have a new boss and the business aspects are taken out. Christian juggles a threesome with a Mother and Daughter who eventually flip out on him for not kissing them in the heat of passion. The mother tells christian he will be single for the rest of his life with his metrosexual apartment. Sean meets with a woman named Cindi Plumb who wants her voice-box to be higher, she is a phone-sex artist and sounds like a man who smoked 5 packs a day (which she smoked and drank, but claims she quit). At the end, Christian ends up skrewing his psychiatrist, who is supposed to help figure out his sexual problems coming in contact with his physical and emotional problems. Sean and Christian sign the business over to Michelle and her husband...but Christian starts making moves on Michelle and continues the flirtation across the table. Memorable line from this episode: "A little less teeth down there, sweetheart." - Christian to the daughter sucking d**k. Anyone wanna take a shot at episode 2? Episode 2 was the more controversial, risque one that kept you on the edge of your seat. -Mackey Lets keep this going all season!

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
My wife and I love this show. We have watched it from the very first show.
Sometimes it is just so damn weird. Sean and Julia's son aggravate the hell out of me. I just want to slap him upside his head sometimes. Are there really men in the world who get laid as much as Christian does? He has more penthouse letter moments than anyone. |

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
Let's see: on this show they've had sexual addiction galore, sodomy, strippers, sodomy with strippers, adultery with best friends' spouses, swinging, autoerotism, S&M, B&D, mother-daughter three-ways, trannys, serial rape, statutory rape, therapist-patient sex, near-pederasty, genital mutilation and gender dysphoria, an unbalanced **** star turned cultist, doll sex, prostitutes, incest, staggering numbers of sexual partners, you name it. I find the show very interesting (despite the preoccupation with sex it is really something of a postmodern morality tale), but I do have to wonder how long this can go on before they run out of kinks. Have they touched on dwarf-goat sex yet?
Re: this last episode, I figured it would only be a matter of time before they had Troy deal with homosexual issues. They've pretty much ran the course with him on the kinky hetero side of things, and they have hinted at this previously anyway, and I've always had the sense that the character had the potential to swing any way that would satisfy his narcissism. That said, I doubt the writers will take the character that direction very far. They might play around with it for the emotional response, but I can't see their turning Troy gay. |

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
The show is about as messed up as it gets, but it is interesting, I'll give you that. There is one thing I know for sure though. These people live the most miserable lives I've ever seen. That is probably part of the point they are trying to make. Looks, money, anonymous sex and the rest of the things we think we want end up taking away life's pleaseure rather than give it.
I think they will experiment with Troy as Bisexual, but the fams would turn on the show if that went on for long. I predict that over the next few episodes, Matt will fall for Kimber, but Kimber won't share his feelings and screw him up even more. The thing with Michelle is interesting and will probably be one of those storylines that lasts the whole season. I wonder if she is some kind of sex slave or is otherwise an unwilling (i.e. Forced) participant in the whole mess. The thing with the baby should be interesting. In his own way, Shaun is as messed up as any of them, despite painting that whole "I'm calm, cool and collected" image much of the time. He is the most repressed of them and when he blows, he is gonna go like a can of soda left in the sun too long. This is the show I love the hate...so this should be fun. It will keep me buisy until 24 begins. ![]() |

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
So after watching this weeks episode .
Wow !! Kimber and Matt !! Will Christian allow it or will his jealousy take over. Is Christian Bi-Sexual ??? Could the skirt chasing man be in for a huge change. Shawn and Julia, I dont think they are going to be able to handle this new baby. The pressure is getting to them. We shall see Tuesday night !

Given the content and that it comes on at 9:00 PM in my time zone combined with the fact that a lot of parents don't pay crap attention to what their kids are doing, I think it wouldn't hurt if it were an hour or two later. I don't watch it, Rescue Me or The Shield live even though my boys are in bed by 9:00. Digital video recorders are the best thing since sliced loaf bread. That said, it isn't the broadcasters responsibility to raise the kids, even though they are, sadly, in too many cases. The show sometimes probably pushes against the outside line of community standards in several areas and not just down here in the Bible Belt. I suspect they would not mind at all if they could get some folks riled up and protesting. At the same time, I think most viewers do recognize the ironic moral message in the show, and that would include viewers who profess faith. The hyper-sexuality is a bit titillating at times but plays well into the empty, wandering and narcissistic existence of Troy and the show probably wouldn't work without it. One of the things that make morality tales interesting is the concept of redemption. It will be interesting to see what ultimate redemption the writers offer Troy, or if his alter ego, McNamara (who at times seems to be playing the part of Job), will be his only redemption. This is getting to deep for a T&A show, isn't it? |

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
Season 3: Episode 2 - Blu Mondae - In this episode, a strip club comes into view as the opening credits slide away. Enter Christian enjoying a pole dance by a stripper named "Blu Mondae" spitting her blues over her oversized mammaries, which she claims adds to her woes of not finding a decent job. After berating her and then feeling sorry for her, Christian spits the line that gurantees a sex-scene: "I'm a plastic surgeon." She quickly perks up and goes on a talking rampage, cut to a scene on Christians bed where an over-ambitious Blu Mondae rattles on about "working off" a breast reduction surgery, in which Christian kindly replies: "No pro bono for boning a pro."
Another cut scene to Christian consulting with a patient...make that two people. Richard Chamberlain comes in with his new-beau, Mitchell, who is sitting as quiet as can be while Richard starts listing things Mitchell needs done to be "accepted" in the gay-community. After Richard throws a pick-up line at Christian, he battles back with "I don't play for your team." Daftly, Richard replies "That's what they all say." Christian schedules a pre-op without Richard's supervision. Ah, we finally recieve the first views of our favorite black-headed, self-penial mutilating, white supremist dating, gay-hating (but post-op loving) child, Matt. He has bulked up since last season and has started to grow his hair back from his "I hate the world, I'm shaving my head" days. It's his birthday soon so Sean and Julia offer him a gym membership...he defends his setup in the garage and claims he is perfectly content with where he is, away from the outside world. They state it is close to his psychiatrist (which one? He definantly needs more than one) and he gives in. As Matt walks away, Annie (the McNamara's other child), shows her newfound problem (and I thought she would be the only normal one on this show!) as she walks by with her fingers taped, mimicking her unborn baby brothers disease. Sean flips and we end up with broken dishes and an upset Annie. I was a little surprised to see Julia take Sean's side in the situation seeing as we are so used to her always wanting to argue. Sean storms out of the house for a cup of coffee, but to make matters worse we find a deformed face serving him his cup o' joe. Sean stares him down and the deformed person starts insulting Sean to get him off his back. After a minute or so of intently staring, Sean offers up a free consultation. Now we cut to Christian in his pre-op with Mitchell. Christian starts asking him about his bi-sexuality in which Mitchell states that a Porsche, guest house, meeting rich and famous people, clothes, and money are worth giving a few blow jobs to Richard. So, Christian says he is "gay for pay." After finding out all the juicy details, Christian says he is going to bring Mitchell out to introduce him to the world of woman once again. We cut to a hestitant "deformed-face" coffee maker and Sean in the room consulting what surgeries he will have to do to make this poor-soul right. The deformed man claims he wants to be able to "french kiss" and Sean continue to highlight his face. Sean is going to do this work pro-bono and we already figure this is in lieu of his unborn son's deformity. Ah, yes, back to Matthew...our favorite. He is at the gym and we get a cut shot of a beautiful woman, maybe its Ava? Nope, nope...it's KIMBER, that delectable blond we all drool over. Matt approaches her and they start getting friendly...Matt asks her if she's changed her hair and she responds no, but she has found a new way to reach peace and calm, Matt is interested and we cut to a scene with Matt and Kimber discussing religion (if you can call it that) and self-worth on some medicine balls. Back to Christian, he convinces Blu Mondae to turn Mitchell straight for pro-bono tit reduction...she agrees and we find Christian enjoying Mitchell's lapdance pleasure more than he does. The newfound problem child is playing with her friend in the family room when Julia walks into Annies bedroom and finds dolls with their fingers cut off to resemble her unborn baby brother. Julia flips and tells Annie to throw them all away. Back to Matt, he is connected to a machine (uh-oh) and Kimber is asking him questions...she tells him his life-force is off the charts and shows the machines pin bouncing back and forth...when Matt comes clean about the attempted murder (which didn't happen, we find out the man (who tried to get Matt to castrate his gay friend) is serving time) Kimber shows Matt the pin has stopped bouncing and is level, dun dun DUN! Matt approaches his two fathers (Sean and Christian) about taking the money from his therapist and putting it into his new found religion...Scientology. Christian and Sean flip and say no...Matt gets pissed and storms off.

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
Christian approaches Kimber about Matt's involvement with her, very violently. They have their words, Christian says he's sorry but to stay away from Matt.
Blu Mondae is on the operating table, which moves "deformed man" surgery to another time, pissing Sean off, but not as much as their new boss (remember Anna Nicole Smith from Episode 1), she doesn't see the point of pro-bono for a tit-reduction and Sean backs her up on it. After much arguing, they do the surgery. Back at home, Matt and Julia have a little talk about his new religion after Annie blames her mother for her brothers deformity. Julia gives in and sends Matt off with some money in his pocket. At Christian's apartment, we find Christian in a towel answering the door to a down and out Mitchell, supposedly Richard found out about his escapade at the strip club and kicked him to the curb. Christian feels responsible and gives the guy $500 for clothes and a hotel...and a last minute bathroom run. When Christian turns around, Mitchell is butt naked and offering Christian the best blowjob in return for the money. Christian tells him to get his clothes on but not before Mitchell tries to seduce him, resulting in a blow to the face (no pun intended). Needless to say, Mitchell leaves in a hurry. As we head back to the office, we find the new McNamara/Troy boss (Michelle) heading out to her car when approached by an unknown lady (at this time). Michelle gives her a wad of cash and the lady cops a feel...which leads to a makeout session witnessed by the resident-lesbian Anesthesiologist, Liz. (This should make for some good drama) Towards the end of the show, Sean decides he is going to operate on the baby and, surprisingly, Julia agrees. Christian gets mad about Julia giving Matt money as he storms out. We end with Blu Mondae stating her new name change in light of her new boobs...Christian seems uninterested. Line of the Episode: Blu: I'm not a whore, you know. Christian: Of course you're not. How much?

Re: Nip/Tuck - Official Discussion (Spoilers May Be Present)
wow...what an episode, for a second there I thought Julia was going to lose the baby from the way Sean was looking over the curtain...
And what about that little affair? I must say, he picked the right chick, she was smoking and, from the sneak peak for next week, it looks like we haven't seen the last of Ms. Nurse-Whore. They of course hit on Christian's homosexual tendencies again in this episode and it was weird to see Mario Lopez, I wonder if he will be recurring or just a one time thing, either way, that dude was ripped. Not much from scientology boy this episode but we do see Annie is going to be a nuisance with this baby. Also, this thing with the new boss, Michelle, is spicing up to be quite the drama, it's got me hanging on the edge wondering what she is covering.

Nice thread! I love this show! I didn't think I would like it, then I sat and watched it with the wife last season, and now Im hooked. I love it! Great stuff so far. I think Christian is gay, not bisexual, and I think Sean will continue to cheat on his wife with the nurse chick.
