Shaolin: Wheel of Life

I just picked this up from Blockbuster and was absolutely amazed. First, I'm a martial arts fanatic and this kind of thing really appeals to me; so it might not be for everyone. This is a theatrical presentation of a Shaolin monk legend put on by actual Shaolin monks. It's full of kung fu demonstrations and skills that are absolutely amazing. It's a little kung fu meets Cirque du Soleil but I loved it.

If this is real Martial arts w/o that crouching tiger hidden dragon/matrix stuff it will be right up my (and my son's) must see list.

It is. It's a taping of a live performance with no wires. Just choreographed fights and skills demonstrations that are set in the foreground of a historical legend of Shaolin history. It's got a good behind the scenes featurette on the DVD as well.

I have seen this and the Shaolin are amazing! To me, they are the most advanced martial artists there are. You can go to China and study the way of the Shaolin for about $3000 for six months. I don't think I could do without a cigar that long though.

ROFL. I think, though, that for an opportunity like that, I could definitely try to go that long without a gar.
