Re: Lost Season III-Official Discussion Thread
I've posted dissatification about this season from the get go...and I have to say, it's really grating on my nerves. Atleast the prelim teasers from last weeks "Do you love him" clips weren't as pointless as I thought - although, it was a shameless emotion ploy to drag out more drama in the love triangle. The bad guy could have simply just beat the living piss outta sawyer without the loose connection of "do you love this man" and his dead wife.
The Desmond thing is getting old ... already. If you have inside info - anytime is a good time to share it. yet, everyone seems to think that knowledge ISN'T power: why not share it with everyone and broaden EVERYONE's pov? The tumor thing on Ben's back will be interesting - but they lack the medical equipment to perform a proper procedure...and let's face it, when the dust settles, he's a deadman anyways - even if they drag him out for a few seasons. One thing is sure: his death. Things they have COMPLETELY dropped so far: * The black smoke security system * The map Locke discovered on the wall * The supplies drop (properly on a monthly/quarterly schedule) * How a massive implosion can shred clothes, tear off hatches, and rock the island - yet leave the mushy, watery carbon-based tissue we call our bodies untouched... wtf???? * How the others were able to track/hunt/move so steathily before, but now their kinda.....pansies. * Why they wanted Claires baby soooooooo badly...and now that some of the major players are outta of the way - they could care less? Doesn't seem like there are some loose ends that need tiddying before launching more irrelevant, catchy "got ya" moments of randomness? Don't get me wrong - I like LOST....I just don't want to see it go the way dodo. KASR

Smokie is back and Echo is dead
Ben wants Jack to operate on his tumor and the blonde chick wants Jack to throw the game and kill Ben in the surgery. |

Yeah, Echo dying sucked. I wonder about the tumor thing. I don't know... just can't trust those "Others".

Re: Lost Season III-Official Discussion Thread
Another Lost fan here. I figured they'd really leave us hanging with the break until Feb. 7, but it wasn't as much as I expected.
That move by Jack suprized me. I figured he was too much of a do-gooder to make a move like that. |

As to the surgery, interesting that Ben gave Jack his word that he would get him "off THIS island." Jack doesn't know that they are on a DIFFERENT island...lol. The most interesting character to me at the moment is the blond Other in charge of monitoring/manipulating Jack. She's obviously conflicted and she's a collection of contradictions. She's the smartest person on either island, IMO. And I don't trust her either. RIP, Mr. Eko...one of my favorite characters. The best flashback sequences were his. edit: Could the blond's attempt to get Jack to kill Ben on the operating table be her way of getting him to compromise his oath-- another way to demoralize and break him while accomplishing her agenda? Or is it just another creative device so that we can see Jack do the slow dance with his anguish and inner turmoil that we are so accustomed to seeing? |
