Probot - no title
A new Dave Grohl band that is very, very heavy. While I enjoy metal, most of this one is tooo heavy for me. This is the 'DOOM' side of metal that never interested me much. Dave is still one of my favorite musicians, but this one just isn't my cup of tea. The Church - Forget Yourself Another band that has been around for 24 years, 17 albums and like Dream Theater has never had any commercial success here in the States. Thankfully. The Australian band’s 1960s inspired psych-pop has echoed and inspired bands for over two decades, but "Forget Yourself" reminds the world how vital the writing and playing of the Church still is. An impressive collection of songs that is their best since Aura. The heart of this disc is just as mesmerizing as their masterpieces Heyday and Starfish (two of my all time faves). The songs are awash in reverberating guitar fuzz and Steve Kilby's haunting style vocals that only an early 60's Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) could improve. The more you listen, the more you start catching, and the more you get drawn in. Highly recommended!
