I was up late last night reading this article on the web from RollingStone.com.The Immortals

I got to thinking, I've seen 20 of the 50 acts live! All put on great shows. I've also seen 11 of the writers perform. A lot of wild memories, especially The Doors at Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield like in 1970 (L.A. Woman Era), the general feeling was anything, and I mean anything could happen at any moment. It was a wild crowd of bikers, jocks, hippies and kids like me barely 15. Mr. Mojo risin' I'm sure of some you have seen a few of these bands, so I thought I'd share the link, brought back some good memories, unfortunately none of my brain cells though. rns

They did miss one band I know is a fav of LLGs

i was born in 1969 and so a lot of the 'immortals' were dead, disbanded or far past their prime when i came along. but of the featured artists, ive seen neil young and david bowie. and of the writers ive seen wyclef, chuck d and tom petty. also saw the grateful dead a bunch and think they should have made the list somewhere (lol)

future immortals i have seen might include (off the top of my head) janes addiction, primus, de la soul, rem, michael hedges, ani difranco, gwar and/or the jon spencer blues explosion.

Thanks for the info on The Immortals.

I had seen the magazind in the stands then totally forgot about it. Now, I'm going to find me a copy to keep as a momento.

Michael Hedges was great! Very odd tunings and a great right hand. I feel sorry for anyone who didn't get to see him live.
