A couple of seasons ago, my daughter got swept up in the hype surrounding the show, so we watched it for a while. Even she's got bored with it before the end of the season.

The auditions are funny if you enjoy watching a bitchy queen ripping into the more talentless and self-deluded contestants; otherwise, I honestly don't see the attraction.

The show is great because we all get to be armchair music producers. My wife and I sit there and say things like "pitchy" and "bad song choice." it's a good time.

Although I have a serious hatred for Sunjaya.

Credibility goes out the door more and more each week that no-talent kid stays. And he knows it and the producers of the show had better know it. They lost all cred with me when Taylor "I copy Joe Cocker" Hicks won last year.

Chris Richardson lives down the street from me..lol..really. guy has a good voice, kind of thin and Justin Timberlake like but at least he can sing.not like that other kid who keeps getting voted back..My Wife and Daughter watch it so I end up catching a glimpse of it every now and then.

Agreed. Although I have to admit, I kinda liked Taylor Hicks, but probably because he ripped off Joe Cocker!

I do watch to auditions pretty religiously. After that I continue to watch, but the mediocre talent does get boring. I like it when people are bad.

Thats why I ended my streak of never voting to vote last night....5 times....for:

What a horrible singer. I would love to see him win. The past 2 Idols have been pretty bad in my opinion anyway. Taylor is a karaoke singer and Fantasia squeals like a pig. Would only be fitting if Sanjaya actually wins.

And remember, it's not the show thats losing credibility, its the people who vote. Now you can add me to that list.

OHHH NOOO!! Don't be that guy! Look, bottom line, the producers and the network wont let that happen. People actually liked Taylor and Fantasia, but Sanjaya is a joke. Don't think for a second that the TV biz people will risk having Sunjaya be the American Idol.

They have no choice, as it's by vote. And with Howard Stern and votefortheworst.com behind the kid, he is getting plenty of votes. Simon has said publicly that if the kid makes it to the finals, he will not be back for the next season. And if they screw with the votes, they really open a can of worms.
