My daughter's into the books and the movies but I'm not. Nevertheless, we have tickets for the new movie at the 3D IMAX Friday night and I'm sure there'll be at least some state of the art eye-candy to enjoy.

Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I'll be lucky if it comes to my town the first week. I guess we can go see it Friday night or Saturday-maybe get out of the heat.

I can't wait for the last book. I've got it ordered and I plan on being at the P.O. when it opens on Saturday(actually we are closed on Saturday, but we do deliver the mail on Saturday. I tried to talk the boss in letting me come in to work at Midnight...but she just laughed at me.

Just the final battle scene?! Crap!

I've only seen two 3D IMAX presentations--the African Safari and the undersea one--both at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The sense of immersion is almost overpowering.

Yep final scene only bro. The rest is in regular digitized IMAX format... but the final battle scene is AMAZING in 3-D... simply breathtaking

Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I thought the movie sucked.

I'd never read a book, never saw one of the previous movies. And I just sat there, bored out of my mind, and calling out what the would happen next in the movie. Too predictable.

I would have rather been in bed sleeping.

Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Saw it tonight in IMAX...the last chunk of the film has 12minutes in 3D.

I have to say, the movie was a let-down. I don't read the books, but it felt empty, unfinished, anticlimactic, and fluffed up. I like 4 MUCH better.

We're going to Edwards Houston Marq*e 23 & IMAX on I-10.

Just 12 minutes in 3D now? Blah!

How do you know when to put on the glasses?--or do you just wear them all through the movie?

They flash green glasses at the bottom of the screen so you know when to put them on, then red ones when to take them off.
