Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

My wife had today off, so with the kids in daycare, she was trying to talk me into taking the afternoon off to go see it. Probably should have. Anyhow, the books are great, and I've enjoyed the movie. I'm looking forward to the final book release more, thinking I'm probably going to buy two copies to prevent any fighting with the wife.

Both my wife and I really enjoyed the movie (and we have both read all the books).

No Imax around where I live but I enjoyed the movie none the less. I only wish we got to see a little more of the Order of the Pheonix as well as Saint Mungos.

A lot of cool things happen in this one and people will talk about it

Well you own every Lisa Loeb record too so that doesn't really say much.

I think this one looks to be really good. I have been wanting to see this thing between Harry and Valdemort get going. All this run up to it has been getting tiresome to some degree. It's nice to see that there is a face-off coming up!

The movie was great. I am waiting for last book to come out. I plan on getting the audio book too. The guy who reads it is fabulous at doing it.

Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Saw it today with the wife and the Child (TM)
Pretty good, although the very large theater complex in which which we saw it needs to have someone working there who knows how to set audio levels (My ears are ringing) and properly focus ALL projectors (I have a headache from trying to focus on the screen before the show)

Now I know why my basement has a screen that is large enough to enjoy movies. Besides, the beer is not only available, but infinitely better than a very "jumbo" diet coke.

Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Well, I finally got to see the fifth movie last night with my wife. What a let down. I've read the fifth book twice and loved it (can't wait for 7). The movie was so unfinished it made me mad. What they didn't leave out they changed and for no good reason (can anyone tell me why they took out the whole quidich aspect to the story? or Ron and Hermione being prefects? or going to St. Mungos? or Harry and Cho's relationship or or or - you get the picture). The movies for me started out really well (the first 2 were bang on) but started at down hill slope with 3 (although I liked 4 reasonably well) and ended up in the gutter with 5. It really will make me think twice about seeing the sixth movie (but I will, I'm HP geek so I can't miss it ). I just wish the producers/directors would read the book first.

My daughter was pissed about the missing quidditch too. I guess there's only so much you can pack into a two hour movie.

Re: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

My wife and I saw it Saturday night. We enjoyed it, but felt they should have added at least another half an hour to it. Obviously they have to leave some things out, but there was a little too much missing from this one-which left the storyline kind of choppy. This was the longest book in the series but has the shortest running time of all the movies!?

I saw this one over the weekend - last time I pay big screen price for an HP movie.

This was lousy - wait for the video and make sure you have a bunch of distractions when you turn it on.
