I tell you what... Bulitt was WAY past my time by almost 30 years! We rented it a few weeks ago (mainly for the chase!), and I LOVED this movie! It's got everything you could ever need AND want!

Saw a stand-up guy on TV comment about this chase.

"The first time I saw the OJ car chase all I was thinking was, DAMN! I gotta get me a bronco!".

Made me laugh. One of the most famous car chases of all time and it's not even a movie!!!

While its not strickly a car chase scene, the chase scene from the newest "Casino Royale" rocks. I'd also have to include "Terminator 2" for the bike vs tractor. And the "Bourne Supremacy" has a pretty hawt one as well.

I have to agree with the Transporter. Although both are quite cheesy action flicks, Jason Statham kicks all sorts of ass.

I also just got Bullitt in today on Blu-ray, and can't wait to check it out in HD as my old VHS taped copy is quite beaten up.

Yeah but there is a part of that chase when you can clearly tell it was filmed at about 20 miles an hour, its only for a split second but it totally ruins it for me. That and the fact that she gets run down by cars with a supposed miles of open emergency lane ahead of her.

Don't get me wrong, all in all I consider that 18 minutes of celluloid to be an incredibile exampel of exemplary filmaking; but its got a few flaws.

I'll have to check it out again to see if I see the flaws. I was too busy looking at her on the Dukati.
