Re: Deep Purple

You lucky BASTAGE! I love Deep Purple, but I've never had the chance to see 'em... glad it was a good show!

I've been pretty lucky when it comes to the length of a concert. It seems every show I go to, EVERY act plays a full set!

Yes sir! It was the best song of the show. Perfect Strangers was a close second.

I agree 100%. Got some of his solo stuff, but Deep purple is definatley unique. I agree with booney though, I thought they were all AARPies.
Congrats on getting to see a great concert.

Re: Deep Purple

Steve Morse is a great guitarist but I have a hard time imaging Deep Purple being Deep Purple without Blackmore.

Thanks for the heads up tho, sounds like a good show

Re: Deep Purple

I saw them a few years ago as the middle act between Ted Nugent and Lynyrd Skynyrd. They put on a good show.

Re: Deep Purple

Did they do that song, you know...

DA DA DAAH
DA DA DA-DAAH
DA DA DAAH
DA DAAAAAH

Yeah baby!

(Actually, I always thought Hawkwind was far the best band of that era)

I have not seen them since 1972 when they played here with Uriah Heep. I didn't know they were still together till a read a article about them in Whiskey Magazine. I wish I would have been there.

Deep Purple & Uriah Heep would have been way cool. They have somewhat similar styles. I can't believe how big Heep's discography is! They are still putting put records.

Yes, they did "Smoke on the Water". If Hawkwind was playing I would have attended but, you see, Deep Purple was playing. Neither band are my go-to bands but I appreciate lots of music.
