Re: The Dark Knight Trailer
This is going to be great. And HL as the Joker is going to be the best joker yet. JN was good, but way over the top. Ledger pulls the psychotic, pathological evil that is the joker off very well from the trailer that I have seen. He also said that he is not trying to be the JN joker, this is his own interpretation of the character. He said that he did read the "killing joke" and some other comics. And Bale is the best batman yet IMO.

Re: The Dark Knight Trailer
Hmmmm.... Still not sold on Heath being the Joker. I still think Johnny Depp would make a better Joker than anyone at this point.
As far as Bale playing Batman, he does a great job, but Keaton, imo, did better. Keaton was more to form of the Bob Kane Batman. Bale was more Frank Miller, which isn't bad by no means. They are using parts of The Killing Joke huh? Just remember The Killing Joke isn't the say all be all of the Joker's history. Even the Joker himself said in it, "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... If I’m going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!" The Joker did not start out as a silly comedy act, as many believe. In the first issues he appeared in of Batman in the 40's he was written as a murderous sociopath who killed over 30 people, before the Comics Code Authority (CCA) started trying to censor comics making the Joker a "clown". For years Joker disappeared from the comics in the mid 60's. Thank God for my favorite Batman artist Neal Adams and writer Dennis O'Neil who in '73 revived the Joker as a homicidal crazy man. Way before he was killing people in TKJ. Also, it must be noted that Tim Burton's was also influenced by The Killing Joke in the first Batman Movie. I think it will be a good movie , but I am not sold on Heath being a better Joker than Jack. I have come to realized that today's movie crowd are less interested with original story lines and more hypnotized by the special effects and crappy storylines than how it actually was in the original comics. I guess people want to be amazed more by the CGI than the story. It's a shame so many of the new Comic movies stray so far from their original roots. The main reason I won't pay to go see any of them at the movies. I will wait and and see it for much less in the comfort of my own home. CBF
