The Dark Knight Trailer

Here is the teaser trailer for Batman: The Dark Knight, which is the sequal to Batman Begins. Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne and Heath Ledger has been cast as the Joker!

I really enjoyed the first one, I hope this one does not disappoint. The sequals to the original Batman films were pretty bad. Christian Bale is a great Batman, in my opinon he's much better than Michael Keaton.

Re: The Dark Knight Trailer

The first one was great. I hope they don't do marketing overkill on this one. The movie is still filming here in Chicago and doesn't come out until next August but they already have a trailer out for it.

The trailer did get me hyped to see it though when I was at the Simpsons premiere.

I have to disagree that Michael Keaton was a better Batman. Christian Bale has so much more emotion than Keaton did. You see a side of vengeance and justice from Bale that Keaton lacked. I like the dark aspects of Bale as Batman, he's such a badass. I really liked when he had that guy and the guy said "Swear to god" and Bale said "SWEAR TO ME". That's when you really saw the dark aspect of the "new" Batman.

I'll agree about the Joker though, nobody can be the Joker but Jack Nicholson.

I can't wait to see how Ledger plays the Joker role. He is supposed to be a more darker Joker. From the pictures I have seen he looks great.

Jack was too much of a comic book Joker IMO.

Re: The Dark Knight Trailer

I really liked Batman Begins. Christopher Nolan did a great job with the story. I am on the fence about the Dark Knight. Christian is a different Batman than any of them. The real one in my opinion. But there is no way Heath is gonna out do Jack Nicholson. I also don't know why anyone would want to try and one up Tim Burton. They will more than likely get my $3 at Block Buster cause I am not running out to see this one.

I guess the two played different versions of Batman. Since the vengeance of Christian's version was so evident, he's role was really good. I guess MK version was more like the original comic book and not the Dark Knight. Anyway you look at it, they were both great.

If you liked Batman Begins, then why the lack of enthusiasm for this one?

I didn't run out and see Batman Begins either. I don't lack enthusiasm I just think back to Batman Returns. I hope this is not another follow up movie that turns into a circus act. Although I could use for another hot blonde in a cat suit MEEOWWW

Re: The Dark Knight Trailer

I'm a huge fan of the entire batman series. I'm no real authority, it's just what I like. That includes comics, books, cartoons, and movies (all "three" different varieties, four is you include the adam west era). I don't know as much of the lore as other people will, but I like to think I know a few things. And i'm collecting new stuff to fill in my "gaps in knowledge".

That being said...

Generally, I think Tim Burton's Batman dealt mainly with the ethos of the character (the way he acts and why) and Burton also tried to portray the world in a comic book fashion (This is before Sin City and 300 remember). So sometimes Burton's movies seem a little silly, and over the top. Jack nicholson was amazing as the joker, because of his irreverance and restrained insanity. In this way you never doubt Batman's eventual success. He is always "one-upping" the Joker in this movie, and is rarely in any danger.

Christopher Nolan's first movie dealt with a history of batman and also his pathos (his emotional state and anger/resentment). I feel that this new one will deal with batman's development. I think (though i want to wait and see some actual movie footage) that Heath Ledger won't go overboard in his role, and that this Joker will not be restrained, and will really test Batman's ability, and also his vows. Batman will be in danger in this second movie.

Whew!...ummm...Did i over do the analysis?
