Are there any more quality Mexican puros made? If so how do you guys feel about them. Which ones would you suggest?

Do we have any knife lovers here? I enjoy carrying a good blade. I own 2 customs, one by Javelina knives the other by Eddie White. All the rest are by either Chris Reeve, Emerson, Benchmade, Spyderco, MOD, SOG, CRKT, or Cold Steel.

My next purchase, a retirement gift to myself, is going to be a Mini Strike by MD Tactical or a TK-8 by Krein Knives.

DBCcigar introduced me to La Casa del Tabaco...

DBCcigar introduced me to La Casa del Tabaco in Buckhead and we've met up there a few times to smoke, BS and have a couple drinks. La Casa is owned by Pablo Nunez and Eddy Fontana - Eddy makes the E. Zarzuela cigars as well as a few others, like the Regalo for Mike at Leaf and Ale.

If you'd like to try some of their cigars here's a link to their site where they have a shop locator, or if you're in Atlanta stop by La Casa del Tabaco.

Dog Watch recently featured Eddy's E. Zarazuela cigar as a cigar of the week, they were also going to call him for an interview on DWCR to talk about his cigars. We started chatting about that and I wanted to try one of the cigars, so...

On to the cigar review!

E. Zarzuela Torpedo
Size: 6 1/8" x 52RG
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano
Filler: Cuban seed Nicaraguan and Dominican
Binder: Dominican
Humi: 68F @ 67% RH
Price: $7.55/ea
Drink: Coke Zero

PRE-LIGHT
This is a gorgeous cigar, slightly mottled in light to medium brown. A firm cigar with a slightly dry shiny wrapper. It cut easily and the cold draw was excellent, just a slight resistance, and produced rich and sweet tobacco flavors.

SMOKING
What a great cigar! Mildly complex with some spice, sweetness and slight oakiness that mingled throughout. The burn quality was good overall requiring a minor touch up or two. I enjoyed this cigar while on an eHerf and got over 2 hours of smoke time out of it. The cigar produced rich plumes of smoke and was never stingy on the draw.

THE STATS
Smoke Time: 2 hrs 15 mins
Appearance: 10
Construction: 9
Burn Quality: 9
Flavor: 18
Overall: 91

Awesome smokes I got

So, about a week ago i had some extra money...

So, about a week ago i had some extra money and wanted to buy a few smokes. Most know that I have been ona search for Camacho liberties and other rarities like CAO Escaparate smokes.

Well I found a place that had 5 sticks I wanted, havanna Connections. They even Had tatuaje blacks So i was thrilled.
I put in an order for some CAO Habanos(Excaparate exclusive), a tat black, 08 Liberty and a CAO Odyssey. Some rare smokes.

Well I got it shipped and opened the box and there were only the CAO habanos in it. So at that point I was a little upset. I sent them and email about it and surely enough they were out of stock on the other items. I was never notified. Not the biggest deal in the world, but i was a little upset.

So "shorty" over there said he was gonna send me a few sticks to make up for it. WOW, that is real cool. I spent $22 with them and they are gonna send me some more sticks for free.

At that point I was thrilled, and acting like a llittle child at christmas running to the mailbox every day to see what I get. I got the package today and I am blown away.

I got a Tatuaje Black, Tatuaje havana that I am not sure what it is but the cello is crazy yellow so it must be older, and it looks like a house blend from virginia called shockoe valley.

I am posting pics, but i am super happy and that is outstanding customer service. it is amazing on how cigar retailers have great customer service. Must be relaxed from all the cigar smoking being done all day

Has anyone tried the Rocky Patel Spring...

Has anyone tried the Rocky Patel Spring Collection 2009? I had my first two days ago and was very surprised. I'm really not a Rocky fan but this cigar hit the spot. Medium-bodied, a little spice, and a bit that traditional nicaraguan taste. With the $7.00-$8.00 price tag, this cigar is definitely worth a try.

OK, Im always late to the party, but I've been eyeballing the La Aroma de Cuba's for a while at my local. None of my non-cyber BoTLs have ever mentioned them, so I've just kept passing them by. I broke down and bought one (dbl corona, I think) and let it nap a couple weeks. I smoked the thing night before last and WOW! Really lovely chocolate, leather and some floral flavors.

Is this my new $4 smoke?

Any other fans out there?

I tried 1 on these 3 days after my 5 pack...

I tried 1 on these 3 days after my 5 pack arrived and thought it was ok but a little more hash and full flavored then I expected. Well last night I relized that they had been sitting for a little over 30 days now and being bored with the string of mild's I've been on I though I'd give 1 a try again. Wow! It was like smoking a completly different cigar, gone was the harshness and full flavor and in it place was a medium woodsy slightly creamy smoke that I just enjoyed the hell out of late into the night. Only down side is I just bought a 5 pack of 5Vagas Golds thinking that I would like those more. Oh well lesons learned, don't try cigars for the first time untill they rested in the humidor for longer. Now I just need to make room for more Classics.

I bought a Padilla sampler a few weeks ago....

I bought a Padilla sampler a few weeks ago. They consisted of four each of 1932,1948 and some other number that will remain unremembered (not really a word but you get my point) right now because I don't feel like getting up to look.
Well I have smoked one 1948 and one 1932 so far. The nicotine buzz I got from both of these was way to strong for me. :puke:I mean I smoked the 1932 last night and this morning I'm still out of whack! I have not come close to this kind of thing with any other cigar I have smoked to date. I'm thinking I should get rid of these even though they taste wonderful. Will more time in the humi help?
